Firefox Portable

is mixing FF portable stable and beta(aurora, nightly, ...) dangerous such that by default it is blocked?

Submitted by zaak on March 24, 2014 - 9:19am

Hello,

I read much about FirefoxPortable.ini modification is needed to enable multiple instance of Firefox Portable, but I got surprised when I couldn't run FirefoxPortable Aurora(tried beta, nightly, ...) without AllowMultipleInstances modification. Shouldn't aurora executable itself already define itself as aurora version and "Firefox itself is *DESIGNED* so that you can't start multiple copies with different profiles by default" is not applied in this case? (as they are different firefox versions at all)

PortableApps Firefox not starting

Submitted by wywern on March 24, 2014 - 8:53am

As from last week, the Firefox PortableApp is no longer starting. When I click the icon, or try to start it from its folder, I see the startup window (that says Mozilla Firefox Portable Edition) but then nothing more.

There does not seem to be any avaliable updates, I am running PortableApps v. 11.2 and Firefox v 28.0. My other portable apps works, so this seem to be a specific Firefox PortableApp problem. I have tried it on another computer but had the same problem. I use PCs.

Firefox Portable History and Cache

Submitted by eddieyost on March 14, 2014 - 12:33pm

I selected Firefox Portable so I could run it on my PC (Windows 7) in drive D (secondary hard drive) and avoid excessive writing to primary drive C (SSD). I'm trying to find where history and other data are stored so I can use CCleaner to occasionally securely overwrite it. I've searched the various Firefox files on drive D and have been unsuccessful in finding the specific file that stores this information. I know it is being stored because by clicking on the Firefox tab and selecting History, I can see the list of sites I visited today and yesterday.

which functionality should i reactivate for firefox to start ?

hello,

INTRODUCTION :
firefox too long ( one of the three best web browser ) does not work anymore it is not tolerable . (3 bug is present , * does not start * runs for less than a minute then freeze * windowed mode without failure)

on (more than 3 ) virtual machine it works very well

I 'm only talking about windows 7 integrale x64 ! fully updated via windows update!

the problem is recurring since 6 ( a bit more ) last firefox (currently tested with 27.0.1 )

this is not normal! firefox does not work because paleMoon works!
