Firefox Portable

Hello (and sorry for my French'English)

i read a lot of tips here, of Firefox Portable and the differents plugins integration.

i regular the situation here and :

1 - i install a clean and official Windows XP pro

2 - i download firefox portable 3.5.3 here > https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable

3 - i Extract it on C:\

4 - i download on official rescpective web site, the actual : Flash Player, Shockwave Player, Divx Web Player and Windows Media Player installer

5 - i manually extract each player installer for get this files > (cf 6)

well, heres my .ini:

LastProfileDirectory=C:\Users\\Desktop\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile
EnableSessionStore=false
DisableSplashScreen=true
WaitForFirefox=false

I still see th splash screen and Launcher still waits for firefox.exe to exit?!

I am new to this forum. I have got Windows XP Home Edition(SP3) and Mozilla Firefox 3.5.3 on my system.

I want to download Mozilla Firefox portable browser or any other portable browser that you recommend on my USB pen drive for the purpose of downloading web-pages,Google videos and you tube videos directly on my pen drive and viewing them all offline and my Internet speed here is slow also.

Then, what are the portable FREE soft-wares to be installed including security

soft-wares(s)?.Soft-wares names and their website addresses?

When Mozilla Crash Reporter is told to restart Firefox, it restarts it in non-portable mode.

I installed FF 3.5 on my thumbdrive. It works good, except:

Whenever I visit an address with https I get an error:
"Connection was reset".

I've seen this happen on both yahoo mail login and my local bank login.

I took the thumbdrive to work, entered in the proxy information for the work network, no problems.

I took it back home, removed the proxy information, same problem. Regular http sites work fine, but https does not work.

Is it possible to upgrade to the Firefox 3.5.3 from 3.5.2 without loosing the settings and installed plugins/addons?

If so can anyone explain how to do this?

Facebook requires this Apple Quicktime plugin but I wonder if it'll install portably or is it a system-wide install? Anyone had any dealings with this one?

The computer I am using has a local install of FF. If I install a certificate in FFP will it save to the computer?

im trying to lock the homepage on my firefox portable to stop anyone changing it

i followed this tutorial http://ilias.ca/blog/2005/03/locking-mozilla-firefox-settings/

but it wont work i keep getting error cannot open config file

When the last tab of my FF portable is closed ... (the firefox.exe process is no longer running) ... all links open in system default browser. (no surprise)
I currently work around this using a MinimizeToTray addon for FF 3.5. This keeps the Firefox portable process running. No more accidental browsing using the local systems Firefox.

Is there any better way to enforce FF portable? (because systray addons tend to lag behind FF versions)
