will there be an Update for the 78 Version or do i have to install the new Beta Version of 91?

Following a system crash and a disk system repair Thunderbird thinks that it running for the first time despite most of the installation looking fine on the disk. Looking at Thunderbird support it appears that one or more profile file needs replacing. Unfortunately the relevant files are in a structure that differs significantly between the standard and portable systems. Can anyone tell me which files need replacing?

I would like to create an internal guide to upgrade Thunderbird (portable version, not installed) to a new version.
I have version 51 and I would like to upgrade to version 78.

I discovered here (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Files_and_folders_in_the_profile_-_Thunderbird) the files list, used by Thunderbird.

ThunderbirdPortable updated and all accounts have vanished, when executed it appears like a fresh install. Profile folder is still the expected size n GB. Checking this forum I have already tried:

(1) replacing the prefs.js file with one from a (much older) back-up, which made no difference
(2) Copy-pasting the data folder into the appropriate folder for a Thunderbird 78.0.1 desktop application, again not successful, the profile does not appear

Can anyone help guide me on how to recover my profile & emails? Thank you in advance

Hi everyone. I've decided I want to take my portable TB and move it to an installed Linux desktop. Both are version 78. I tried the directions at this site but they simply did not work: https://fosswire.com/post/2008/03/migrate-your-thunderbird-emails-from-w... It just asks me to "Set up your existing email address" even though I have something like 10 email addresses and a maze of mail sorting folders already in the old TB setup.

Yesterday when Thunderbird auto-updated it destroyed my profile and disconnected all mail accounts.

Can anyone please help with a method of restoring these that doesn't involve trying multiple methods (typically 'none of' that will work)?

I won't place all the PC specs etc here, unless there are different methods for each OS.. I have used Thunderbird and Portable Apps for many years and have never experienced this issue before.

Message filters set to run on download of new messages, will not run, nor is filtering running when called manually. Going back to previous version.

I changed PW on a Gmail account and now cannot operate it in TB 52.8. Tried opening new account - PW not accepted. Error messages when trying to send with either old or new PW and new messages are not delivered. Tried changing back to the old PW in Gmail. but it would not let as it was too short. Please, help, thank you

Pretty much every external link in https://portableapps.com/support/thunderbird_portable is a dead link.
Will you consider either updating or removing them altogether?

This morning I installed an update to Thunderbird Portable and after "successful" installation it won't open. I receive an error message that reads: "thunderbird.exe can't be found." And yet, thunderbird.exe is shown as existing in the thunderbird/portable directory with a date of 3/8/2021 and a size of 177 bytes. I tried a second reinstallation. Same error message resulted.

Any help on this?
