PTB have some problems with some extensions for TB

Submitted by goranpasic on July 26, 2006 - 6:07pm

I try to use some extensions (made for TB - desktop version) , and they work just fine! But I have problem with this ext. (mozilla_calendar-0.2.0.20060116-fx+tb-windows.xpi)...
PTB cant start (you must run it twice), in the Task manager CPU usage 100%
Later I uninstal this ext. but the damage is done. Any time I try to run this app. the problem remains.
I know that some of you will say , why dont use Portable Sunbird instead! But I try to use it bullit-in with PTB... and failed!
It would be nice to have some list of safe extension for PTB

PTB slow in Kingston drive

Hi Guys,
i am setting up portable Thunderbird in my Kingston Datatraveler 128Mb, but it's quite slow.
I want to make sure my USB ports are 2.0

I am running WIN XP PRO SP2, all updated drivers. My motherboard is a Soyo 7VCA2. desktop PIII 1ghz.
At device manager i see the following under USB:
--sorry my OS is in spanish!--

I see no "enhanced USB" anywhere!

PTB leaves a stub behind on host PC?

Submitted by peanut butter on July 23, 2006 - 2:28pm

I was cleaning out the registry on one of my computers, and noticed to my surprise that PTB showed up in it. It's under the key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\userid@isp.com
(the email address above isn't real, of course)

Where the string named Application has the value:
"G:\Apps\PortableThunderbird\App\thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" -profile "G:\Apps\PortableThunderbird\Data\profile" -mail

Luckily I haven't used PTB on any public computers yet, but the fact that my email address is left behind on a host PC worries me. Is there any way to fix this problem?

Opening links in Portable Firefox

Submitted by colmed01 on July 11, 2006 - 4:49am

Is there a method of forcing Portable Thunderbird to open HTML links in Portable Firefox instead of the default Windows browser.

I'm running both Thunderbird & Firefox on a USB drive, on a PC at work, and don't want to use the installed IE as my browser. DUe to user restrictions I can't (and don't want to) chanmge the default browser.
