Pidgin Portable 2.5.6 Rev 2 Released

Pidgin logoPidgin Portable 2.5.6 has been released. Pidgin Portable is a versatile instant messaging client packaged as a portable app, so you can take your IM settings and buddy lists with you. It has all the same great features as Pidgin, including support for AOL, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ and Jabber networks, but there's nothing to install on the local PC. This new release updates Pidgin to the current 2.5.6 release, adds Windows 7 support and has an improved installer. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Suite. And it's open source and completely free.

Notepadpp logoNotepad++ Portable 5.4.2 has been released. It's the handy Notepad++ text editor packaged as a portable app so you can do your development on the go. It has all the same great features of Notepad++ including support for multiple languages and an extensive plugin system, but there's nothing to install. This release updates Notepad++ to 5.4.2, fixes a software firewall issue, fixes bugs with settings, has improved Win9x support and adds Windows 7 support. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Suite. And it's open source and completely free.

The PortableApps.com Installer allows you to quickly package your portable apps in an easy-to-use installer without having to write or compile any code. This release adds new icon formats to the PAF specification as well as new functionality. The installer has additional features and fixes as well.
