I've posted before about not being able to use the latest Flash plugin in Firefox portable for You Tube videos; nothing's worked except using the older plugin (10.0.32) which isn't really secure. That works fine, though. In reading the installation directions on this site, it mentions an extension you can use instead of a plugin, but the link there is dead. Is there still a current .xpi, and if so, I'm willing to give it a try if someone can share the link here. Thanks.
When I run Firefox Portable, a Mozilla folder is created under %APPDATA% with the following structure:
%APPDATA%
->Mozilla
-->Extensions
-->Firefox
--->Crash Reports
---->InstallTime20120312181643 (file)
Its not personal information however how can I stop it?
Whenever I try to update or do a full reinstall beyond version #8, McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention (at work) stops the application from running. The message type is "Attack Type: Suspicious Function Invocation." I do not get this error with anything at or below v8.0
On my home computer, Firefox 11 works fine from the USB.
Thoughts on something that I could fix? (other than stopping McAfee)
Thanks
Brock
Firefox does not show bookmarks when I use my Mac at home running under Wine. All my office computers are Windows, and it works fine there. is this an issue with firefox or just an incompatability between windows and Mac formatting of the way the bookmarks are saved?
Also Addons do not carry over from Windows to Mac either.
I'm on FF 3.6.27 portable and I'm trying to stop FF from looking in the local machine for add-ons, on my home PC I'm getting DivX, .net and java quick starter, but there is no telling what stuff will be on other peoples systems, I'd rather FF just didn't look and only looked into its own add-on folder in the USB drive..
I noticed the other thread about this issue, but "extensions.autoDisableScopes" doesn't seem to be a part of 3.6 so i can't change that. I obviously can't change the registry setting on every PC i plug this USB into so i need a fix for FF.
Both Ffx and Tbird leave files on the pc if used as default browser/mail app. I want them kept as default but wondered why they create these files and leave them in the system.
Is it a Mozilla problem/function/issue?
Will this be sorted when file associations are added to the menu?
Its not really a problem its just annoying because I imagine due to these files being left it causes a default Ffx/Tb settings to be loaded if the apps aren't running and I open a html file/link or create new email.
I always have to start the app then open link for browser/email.
Hey,
I have been using FF Portable for years, really. I find it cool, until yesterday.
I run a quick format of my disk every, lets say, 6 months. Everytime I just copy FirefoxPortable folder, and everything works fine.
Not this time. I have installed flash, java, silverlight and firefox does not 'operate' on some sites. For instance it looks like that on most forums:
link: http://www.freeimagehosting.net/nak93 (see, something with coding is wrong) but not only:
After a long usage, I'am closing ff. but it keeps on running. I am using firefox on different PC's. There is same problem again.
Hi,
Please I need a help to disable the "Install Add-On" feature, which happen when starting a CD "autorunned" with "Firefox Portable" in some PCs.
Look this snapshots images of the screen.
P.S: That do not always happens, there must be some program which "offers" this installation for the Firefox.
