Like the title says, and when I restore Win 7 from an image, FF won't start the first time. I think it balks at there being old stuff in its C: drive stashes.
FF is on my computer's E: drive.
I'm afraid to use it on somebody's computer, especially if they have FF too.
Hi,
I had to rename firefox.exe so:
- firefox.exe renamed to firefoxP.exe (for both x32, x64 arc)
- firefox.exe.sig renamed to firefoxP.exe, sig (for both x32, x64 arc) (I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS REQUIRED)
- FirefoxPortable.ini copied next to FirefoxPortable.exe
- FirefoxPortable.ini Key "FirefoxExecutable=firefox.exe" changed to "FirefoxExecutable=firefoxP.exe"
All working OK
Trying to install add-ons, I get "An unexpected error occurred during installation."
The Firefox is portable and I was able to install add-ons in the past.
Hi all, I'm new here, but I used firefox portable since months ago...
In our company, we use a frozen version of firefox to maintain java and flash.
I've been testing portable firefox (same version, ESR 52.9) for a while, and found one problem when, inside portable firefox, I try to open and eml file...
It's say that Thunderbird is already open, I must close it before open this attachment. Same message when trying to open a second instance of portable Firefox (but this is not the problem). Thunderbird in our computers, is not portable.
Hello,
I regularly use Firefox Portable (currently v. 89) and I am confronted with this issue.
If I quit Firefox Portable normally and restart it, it loads in a decent amount of time (maybe 10 seconds before it loads a page). Same behaviour on the desktop version of Firefox, by the way. Likewise if I close my session but don't turn off my computer.
User has successfully used a third-party tool to register FF portable as the default browser in Windows.
User wants to be able to retain this setting while launching other instances (different versions) of FF portable.
When AllowMultipleInstances=true is set in .ini, the default browser setting no longer works correctly. For example, clicks to hyperlinks in the system or via other apps will now open the wrong FF instead of the default instance.
About FF v89 that it was a major UI change, a major cock-up IMHO.
For the past few years, after the last UI change and it was working well up to v.88 I was using Aris' userChrome.css tweak to keep my tabs below
the address bar {no Bookmarks bar, turned off in the drop-down} from over at GitHub.
Now v89 has destroyed it and over at mozzillazine guys like me are scrambling to try to find ways of fixing it.
It seems that the silent majority, me included, like our tabs on the bottom and Mozilla themselves is not listening.
I get a white screen with a thick blue bar at the top and nothing else. It just sits there unless I manually go into the Task Manager and kill it. This started with FF 90 beta. Previous versions updated fine.
PS: I always use the PortableApps built-in updater to update.
