jPortable 8 Update 40 Rev 2 (portable Java runtime) Released

jPortable 8 Update 40 Rev 2 (formerly Java Portable) has been released by PortableApps.com. jPortable (32-bit and 64-bit) allows you to easily install the Java® runtime engine to your PortableApps.com-enabled device for use with portable apps like LibreOffice Portable and Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition, and Google Chrome Portable, all without any Java runtime on the local PC. This release is an installer-only update to work around bugs in XP and Vista. Existing users of jPortable Release 8 Update 40 do not need to upgrade and will not be upgraded via the platform's updater. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format for easy use from any portable device and integration with the PortableApps.com Platform. It's freeware for business and personal use.

CrystalDiskMark Portable 3.0.4 has been released. CrystalDiskMark is a disk benchmark utility that measures performance for sequential and random reads/writes of various sizes for any storage device. It is useful for comparing the speed of both portable and local storage devices. CrystalDiskMark requires admin rights to operate and includes both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions (automatically selected). It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

Iron Portable 41.0.2200.0 Rev 2 has been released. SRWare Iron is 'The browser of the future' - based on the free Sourcecode "Chromium" - but without some features that privacy advocates object to. This release works around bugs in XP and Vista. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.
