BonkEnc

Submitted by listless on June 28, 2009 - 7:51pm

Hi,

I configured the encoder and it changed the default language and I don't know how to get it back.

Is this a known issue?

Also, what happened to mp3?

Thanks

Xenon Portable (is it still being developed?)

I'd kinda like to know if this is still being developed. It looks like a good idea, but I don't like how limited the customization is. I sometimes work on computers with tiny screens, and need to be able to maximize the screen realestate, so to speak. Is there a way the full path of the selected tab could be placed in the titlebar? Can we please get a remove toolbar/addressbar option in there as well. I like the idea of having a file manager that has it's own file associations.

Compiling an App

Submitted by Pidgeot on June 23, 2009 - 11:07am

To save space, I tried to recompile all my apps with CRC checking turned off so I could just compress my entire drive. But whenever I try to compile them I get either "Could not find Registry.nsh" or "Could not find TextReplace.nsh". Where can I get them, and why weren't they incuded?

App Compactor on regular programs

Submitted by edmenje on June 19, 2009 - 4:57pm

Has anyone tried using App Compactor on regular programs i.e. MS Office, Internet Explorer? I'm working for a non-profit and one of their computers has only an 8GB hard drive. I've done everything I can think of to open up some free space, and since the organization feels that the particular machine is not worth shelling out for a new hard drive I'm doing all I can under the circumstances to help it run faster. I'd like to try compacting the above mentioned programs to squeeze out a bit more, but first I thought I'd ask if there would be any problems with doing this.

PortableApp.com Installer feature request

Would it be possible incorporate PortableApps.com AppCompacter into PortableApps.com Installer? I think that would help streamline the app creation process.

Maybe the installer could look to see if AppCompacter is installed, then offer to run it before creating the installer (and passing the selected directory to AppCompacter).

AppCompactor Question

Submitted by malikor on June 18, 2009 - 10:17am

Is there a tutorial somewhere that would explain the options available in the program? I just use the default selected option when compacting my PortableApps but I was wondering if it would be better to use a different setting for a different program, perhaps based on how the program was compiled. In essence, I would like to more efficiently use the program so that when I do compact a PortableApp, I get the most out of it (speed, takes up as least space as possible, etc) Any ideas?
