Running PA's from truecrypt volume [update] = solution found!!

Submitted by nanobreaker on February 18, 2007 - 12:00pm

How would one go about doing this?
I was thinking of creating an app that mimics John's "StartPortableApps" program, but instead, there would be one for each information-sensitive app: firefox, keepass, and gaim. These shortcuts could be placed in the portableapps folder (allowing them to appear in the menu) and when clicked on, redirect to the actual app in the truecrypt volume?

btw, i'm planning to autorun truecrypt (on custom u3 drive) to ask for a password if i want to allow access to those programs, while at the same time starting up the PA menu

I think everyone (techies mainly) should buy U3 Flash Drives not for the launchpad itself, but for the autorun mechanism. After growing quite bored with the bulky u3 launchpad, i've explored the art of cd partition replacement. By doing this i have been able to:

Autorun a favorite app launcher
&
Autorun an encrypted volume

Here are the simple steps i've taken:

Does anyone out there know about a web site that hosts free online virtual desktops? Where you could just go to the site, sign in, and do everything you would normally do on a computer within a Java applet? That would would be so cool. The thought came to me when I checked out the site www.meebo.com. After you sign in, you have this instant messenger that you can drag to anywhere within the page. You can also open, close, or resize windows. But it's only for instant messaging, there's nothing like a web browser or anything.
