A suggestion for those needing to access their superior computer systems from Windows-based university labs

I often used to forget my USB drive in public computers or at least worry that I would. It was also slightly inconvenient to have to plug my USB drive in after the ring on it broke and I could thus no longer store it on my keychain. I decided that I'd just download my USB drive instead.

difference between Portableapps.com and xxxx?

I wanted to give a shout out to the developers and volunteers who help run this site and provide the awesome applications. I am nuts about portable software, and if they're free, so much the better!

I use the apps on here so much, and am going to make a donation to help support this site as well!

I do have a question though, in my quest for portable apps, I came across portablefreeware.com. What are the main difference betweens portablefreeware and portableapps?

portable search

I had ceedo on my stick with Copernic desktop search installed. My stick broke and I lost Ceedo. So I installed Portable Apps on a new USB stick and downloaded Copernic Desktop search home. However, the latter refuses to install but to the local dir (i.e. C-dir); it doesn't accept the drive letter my USB stick is mounted on.

why no portable apps for MAC?

Submitted by ottosykora on February 18, 2009 - 7:30pm

Recently, I was presenting my collection of portable apps and other things and I was asked if they are also similar portable apps for MAC?

Well I have operated a mac abt twice in my life and have not much contact to any mac users, but are they any portable apps for mac or not?
Or do they have some feature like wine on linux to be able to run some of the apps anyway?

Sorry, but myself I have absolutely no clue about mac system, therefore the question here.
