I want to know why mac on a stick is on PortableApps. I've wondered for a while it is the only app that...

1. Requires downloading of illegal files or owning something
2. Is NOT hosted on portableapps
3. Is NOT in PAF format
4. Does not include every required file
5. Is not 100% open source
6. Does not have announced updates
7. And to top it off, there is an open source alternative, Linux

http://www.osalt.com/ lists Open Source Alternatives. I was looking through the list and saw apps like Ad-Aware, Kaspersky Anti-Virus, McAfee VirusScan, etc. Are those apps really Open Source?

hi, i wana meke a sugestion for portable apps, more specific for firefox. When i use it form my pen drive and have many tabs open something that in a pc takes me 1 munute with my pen takes me more than 4 minutes so i suges to first search in the pc for a HDD then create on it a temp folder "c:\TempFF" and alocate on it the cache and temp files used when surfing so it will be more kicker, aldo maintein all the app on ram (when opening a app load it ALL on ram so it will be fast while the user work), and while closing the app save all the necesary data again on the pen drive.

I see some of the changes in the website and I am wondering if a "view column" will be added. A view column would be a column that displays how many times a thread has been viewed and not just commented on. Sometimes you wonder if certain threads (some of the "0" comment ones) are even being looked at, not necessarily any of mine.

I am fairly new to the Portable Apps software and i looked for the answer to this question before posting, but couldn't find one. I purchased a U3 thumb drive which came with some Portable Apps software pre-loaded on it. After a few days i just about only use the Portable Apps stuff for daily computer use (basically email, browsing and file storage). I do use the password protection feature on my U3 thumbdrive.

Looks like the main page is currently inaccessible due to a Drupal problem. I accessed the forum through a Google search, so it looks like the whole back end of things is fine, but the front page is gone. PortableApps.com brings up a standard Drupal install page:

is there any way to use a configuration file to relocate things like where the dirve space slider shows up? cuz i have this problem, i developed this awesome skin for my PAM but i didnt place everything correctly and so the drive space slider and the X button are in different locals from the original pam so... is there a way to adust the PAM so the slider and X button are relocated to the places on my PAM.

Can you tell me what exactly comes with the Standard Suite. Does this include all applications that Portable apps has or are some not included yet. I noticed that there were several programs ie. PeaZip, Texas holdem and some others too that had dates after the FEB update of the suite. Does the new standard include those, or do we need to download them separately.

Apparently, Mozilla has pretty much finished work with FF3. The RC is supposed to be out in May, with the final release set for June. This means we'll probably have FF3 portable in the first half of summer. The countdown is on...
