i have a portable psi. When i removing flash unsafely, process psi.exe stay of memory and psi working fine.
I needed with removing flash unsafely , psi.exe was killed.
Can you help me?

I've seen that PortableApps has a Linux build in the works, but I'd like to partition my 16GB USB and install a distro on it right now... But due to a Grub error, as well as the abnormal type of installation I currently have, all I can use on my laptop right now in WinXP; so could someone point me to one that's easy to set up in a persistent state, and that can easily be installed via windows (without having to burn a CD-R)?

I was wondering how other people handle the issue of keeping their portableapps up to date? I know you can subscribe by RSS to PA.c news updates, but is there a program or anything that I could run which would check whether new versions of specific apps (i.e. the ones I have installed) exist?

An outdated updater for portableapps. I am guessing this is exactly what I'm looking for - but I don't suppose I should use it as it's "OUTDATED!!!".

Why wouldn't this work? Seems like such a bright idea, but I gotta be overlooking something?

I signed up for the Portable Apps newsletter around a year ago and I have never gotten an email.

maybe, if you had a lot of apps on your portable apps platform, you could have a search bar on the bottom right of the bar. maybe somewhere beneath the word "help" and above the eject and exit buttons.

the search bar would let you search for key words or letters in app names.

I've installed portable apps on my hard drives for years without a problem (Firefox, VLC, many more). However, I notice VLC takes FOREVER to open compared to the "regular" (non-portable) version. This leads me to a question that people ask but I can never answer:

Are portable apps "on your PC" generally slower? If so, why? Has anyone ever tested?

Hi, sorry if this belongs in the off-topic, but I figured I'd put it here in case theres a portable app for the software.

I love the program Fireworks (made by Adobe) but, it's not portable, and I also love open source.

the situation: since long time, i was searching how to make the PAM really automatically autorun directly from a normal usb-stick, when plugin (winxp) and NOT first showing up the context-menu of xp, where i have to choose to open the PAM by this autorun.inf first.
I mean i wanted an autostart as known from the U3-system, but this wasn't possible because therefore is needed a cd-partition on the stick that only could autorun on winxp and this seemed not to be possible on normal usb-sticks.
