I wanted to ask everybody a quick question about file associations. At first, I was planning on having each app only list associations for what it associates itself with locally or what can be associated within the app itself (if it has a 'register filetypes' function internally), as that seems to best duplicate the functionality you get from a local app.

Make installing fonts easier! -- This utility copies fonts from the Documents\Fonts folder before PortableApps starts up. Just a quick batch file, it will make the Fonts folder if it doesn't exist. Just copies every time, so if you have many fonts you'd probably only want to run this once and a while.

NOT INTENDED TO BE SELF PROMOTIONAL - Its just a simple utility that I thought would be good for the general public.

I had an idea that i think might be useful for others related to ejecting the drive.
I was wondering if it would be possible to make it that when ejecting the portableapps drive, that it prompts to end all task/processes related to the portableapps drive so there will be no problems regarding ejecting drives and then we could choose wether or not to end the processes.

If this has been discussed on the forum please link me and I will delete this post.

I have been trying TeamViewer PortableApps and I tell you, this thing is far from portable, its no different than the so called portable TeamViewer they offer on TeamViewer.com (Which sucks), it writes to AppData, registry and who knows where else!

Can someone clarify this please?

Is there any configuration or modification that I can make to open always Google Chrome portable in incognito mode when I open it from the launcher or the PortableApps Platform?

I want to add some privacy featuring in my Chrome experience since it boot up.

I don't have a good connection of wifi on my laptop so I go to the cafe and rent a computer to download torrent into my portable HDD using utorrent portable. All is well until the update for 3.1.3 arrives. It doesn't seem to retain any data of the previous session and always ask me to install. When I return to the shop I see the utorrent empty of loaded torrents I was seeding last time which is frustrating since I need to reload it again and some files are too large it takes time.

The cafe has a deepfreeze so data from the last user before shutdown isn't retain.

How do I cure this?

1. Flash Player will not become a PortableApp
2. There isn't a portable app to keep your flash game save files with you

As we're debuting the PortableApps.com Format 3.0 which will include the specs for file formats, I wanted to get other folks' thoughts on what filetypes we should include icons for and information on within the platform by default. These will be icons included with the platform and the associated file formats that will use them by default.

i am doing some studies about portable application in general to study the traces that they leave after use. I know everybody is saying that these application don't leave any trace. but i'm sure they will leave something somewhere.

Can someone help me to develop this subject.

Can you tell me names of some applications that can be used to see where an application(one of the portable application for exemple) create files or leave files somewhere, or put keys in register?like a tracer.

Hi everyone, just discovered portable apps.... Great! At last I can set up my work laptop to do what I want.
Does anyone know of PDF editor app? How about a viewer for AutoCad or Microstation files (DGN) ???
I'll start combing the forum post to answer the many questions that are starting to form in my pea brain.
