I removed the quoted text because I read some small text that said I could not post any of the contents of the email :/

hi I would like to know if can I defrag my USB drive, if it's would be good or bad...
I read a lot of things about it, some people say that it will enhance performance on the other hand, other people say that it decrease time life of my USB flash drive... what is true? and what all of you recomend to do...

I just noticed a glitch in the forum (maybe due to the updating). When I just created a new forum topic, the post did not get my usual signature. Replies to existing topics seem to get the signature just fine.

I keep my wife's schedule and make appointments for her using my computer. I currently use WinXP but will be migrating to Win7 as soon as I can get my new computer unpacked and set up.

My wife's computer is Win7 and it lives in her office and client-space in a different building, but it is connected using WiFi.

If I have to format the hard disk, could I just copy the folder of all the portable apps on another media (for example an external hd), format c:, reinstall Windows and then re-copy the folders, or should I re-install the .paf file for each portable app?

We just finished maintenance work on the site. The search index and cache are being rebuilt, so the site will be a little slower than usual for a day or so and search won't be fully functional for about 24 hours while the site is re-indexed. It would be nice to have the Suites and larger apps like OpenOffice available as a torrent. At times I have gotten multiple failed downloads using a DSL or Cable internet connections.

OpenOffice.org makes their software available this way and it works great.

Please forgive me, I haven't been on PA.com for a while and I think I missed this discussion, and now I can't find it. So, I am going to ask.

A while back there was some discussion of an improvement coming out for PA. This was going to help with checking for updates to applications, and installing them automatically every time someone starts PA, which would be especially helpful with programs like Clamwin. I am not sure if anything ever came out of this or not. Just figured I would check.

How do you make applications portable I wan't to make applications I made portable

I recently joiced identi.ca mostly to get updates from here and FOSS projects. PortableApps has not made notices there for about 3 months. Is this on purpose?
