As I mentioned to Ryan this morning I am afraid I wont really be around for the next three weeks or so as I have important exams (they are worth half of the qualifications that will take me to uni). I will aim to reply to posts about Toucan as soon as I can, I notice there are a couple I havent yet got round to, I will as soon as I can. Hope all goes well for the next few weeks, I expect to see a new menu release when I get back Wink

Bye!

Menu Items - new & removed

Submitted by SwampCat on May 5, 2008 - 4:54am

Greetings all,

1)adding menu item
when I add new app. the "Wizard" asks for directory, which was created under Portables.
Funny thing is that I need only one exe to be reflected as a new item it the menu.
When there are several executables in the program's folder - all of them appear as menu items ??? Not good, because sometimes launching one of executables can cause unpredictable result. Say, one or more components were not design to be manually started
2)removing menu items
I remove the directory in order to remove menu items created earlier.

Suggestion - Improvement to portable apps software

Submitted by Pezmc on May 4, 2008 - 3:22pm

this is a collction of suggestions for the actual software (the menu that appears).
1. i think that the list of apps should be ordered bu when they were last used and not alphabetically. I have a long list of apps and find scrolling down cumbersome and unhelpfull. I feel that if the apps were ordered by which I used most recently (across all computers) I would find the software a lot more useful and easier to use.

Ext3 and ntfs working together?

I am using a 250gig external to run Ubuntu 8.04, I set aside 10 gigs for my Ubuntu ext3 partition, 1 gig for the swap and the rest is ntfs for transferring between windows and Ubuntu. I use portable applications from here and I use a lot of the same application in windows and on Linux. I didn't want to use wine to run my applications since I have more stable version designed for Ubuntu. So i was wondering if the application roots (where they store their settings and data) could be changed to the same one?
