everything download?

Submitted by porkrind on May 9, 2008 - 12:46am

Sorry, newbie and whatnot...

I want everything new -- 1.1 beta/gamma/omega I don't care.

What's the *one* link I can use to continuously image my thumb drive with the latest of *everything*? I'm okay with crashing and whatever. I just want one (1) download.

thanks!

Pocket PC Portable Apps question

Submitted by Bob.a.ford on May 8, 2008 - 11:19pm

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows if Portable Apps works on Windows Mobile off an SD card. I really like using Sunbird, Thunderbird, etc... and I would really like to know this before buying a pocket PC. If anyone knows (Or has a pocket pc w/ and SD card) I would greatly appreciate an answer, I'm looking at a pocket PC with Windows Mobile 5.0, if it makes a difference.
Thanks Again!

StartPortableApps.exe

When I click on StartPortableApps.exe

Recourse to the the suggested pages has not been of much help.
I do not personally know anyone in the Open source movement, which I would like to support.

I get an error message that I must restart as shown:

"PortableAppsMen.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program." It also says that an error log has been created.

It does not work. There is no error log,
that is it does not do anythting.
I can access applications OK.
What is the StartPortableApps file about?

How to run PortableApps from a CD ROM

Submitted by ricardo.silva on May 8, 2008 - 12:18pm

Hi,

I tried to run PortableApps from a CD ROM (the media was actually a CDRW, but no writing was possible), but some applications failed (Notepad++, for example).

Isn't there a way to run from a read-only media? Is this application specific, some need to write on the media, others don't?

I also tried to format the CDRW as UDF but this would not work either (for some reason the PortableApps menu is not shown) and it is not portable if run from another computer without CD burner.

Regards,
Ricardo
