Would anyone know if there is a possibility to have a password prompt when first accessing the PortableApps?
Many thanks

Hi,

The latest release of Eraser overwrote my settings. Is there a problem here or is this to be expected? Can I just copy a file from a backup to get things going again?
I'm looking for a program that will password protect anyone from accessing my UBS drive. I'm a teacher, and grades, reports, etc are on my usb drive. So if a student took it from me, it would at least like to have the security of the kid not being able to open the usb drive without a password. Is there a portable program like this that I could use?
also, I was wondering if there was a portable keylogger?
I thought something like the following ought to be on the page. I know it's obvious but there's mileage in spelling it out?
These are big advantages to me - not very well worded I know, but you get the idea.
And last but not least
I notice that the images rarely work when reading the RSS feeds, at least in Google Reader. It seems that there's a referrer check on them as the same images work fine from the actual portableapps.com pages. Not a big deal, but mildly annoying.
I ran across an article on MSN today that mentioned Portable Apps.. Here's the link: http://tech.msn.com/howto/articlepcw.aspx?cp-documentid=6335916&icid=tg6...
Hi @all,
yesterday I set my language settings for markomlm to German.
All was ok (German Strings for all stuff).
But today, after loggin in I'm not able to see content or to modify my settings ,only blank pages...
@John or somebody with drupal access: Please set the language settings for markomlm back to en.
Thank You!

Hi
I'm trying to convert a set of documents containing research for a physics coursework from word documents over to HTML so that they'll easily link over to other websites, and will open files from the CD which I'll eventually hand in via references.
I tested the flash drives I own, and found that the one I was using for portable apps wasn't the one with the fastest read/write times & access times by a fair margin. So, I moved all my portable apps to the faster drive.
However, when I used the new drive (using Firefox), I actually found it to be slower. There seemed to be more & longer pauses in using Firefox while it accessed the flash drive.
This doesn't make sense, unless there's more to it than read/write speed. Can anyone comment? Is this all in my head or is there more to it?
How do I control file associations? I used to be able to go to the Windows Explorer at Tools\Folder Options and specify what executable would run documents. Usually I did this in conjunction with copying Portable Apps to my work hard drive, but last night they erased everything, and now I can't set file associations: I can navigate through the Tools\Folder Options like before, but when I select a Portable App, my WinXP box acts like I never told it anything.
Is this an Administrator thing that I'm stuck with?
