Hi,

i want to use an autorun.inf file on my usb to go to a specific folder on doubleclick on the drive

i got this:

shell=pam
shell\pam\command=folder/StartPortableApps
shell\pam=Start PortableApps


but now it starts the program StartPortableApps.exe

i just want to go to /folder/ do the files in the root are not shown

how to do this??

ive only been using portable aps for about a month and think there fantastic, i was intrigued by the requests for a portable linux distro, i recently found a website

that has a few linux distros on it that all work from a usb stick.
take a look if your interested.

I'm not an expert on open source licenses, however it seems that it is possible under the GPL and MPL to distribute software commercially. There are lots of online stores selling various linux distros.

Is it possible to sell a usb drive with the portableapps suite pre-installed on it.

If so is any body doing this ?

I am in high school and I have to do a Graduation Project.

And for my product I have chosen to find a way to improve on Firefox Portable...
I do not have any coding experience but I really want to do this... is there anybody out there who can help get started... like what kind of coding language I should learn and stuff like that if anybody is willing to help me that would totally awesome...

Just wondered if John knows about this site, http://www.democrakey.com/ ,it looks like he is redistributing the menu with John's branding. Wondered if this is OK, as looks a bit suspect to me!

Depends on the license that the menu has I suppose, and of course John might be involved, but if not, though I'd let you know!

Just a few things I've noticed:

• The <img /> for the RSS button isn't closed
• The front page says "Click here for more" at the bottom, but it isn't a link.
• The PortableApps Menu is missing from the compatibility page

I just found UnDoReg v1.46. Its a cute little programm to undo registry changes.
I havent checked whether it is virus/malware-free or leaves registry itself.(I have linux...)

Just wanted to post a quick note about a recent upgrade. As the techies here know, PortableApps.com uses the Drupal content management system to handle the site, forums and pretty much everything else. I've been working the past week and a half to test the various modules, update the custom PortableApps.com theme and test the overall system to ensure that the upgrade would go smoothly.

You read how Open SOurce software can be freely distrubited and modified, but does anyone know of some? Take firefox for example, only other version Ive heard of is Swiftfox.

Is there a guide out there somewhere? What do I need to know? I was messing around with Portable FireFox, and it seems its made up of just the main program, .nds and .ini's. Im really intrested in this, would like to make my own custom browser
