Hey all,
I have an Adobe Flash program that's compiled to an .exe. I've put it in portableapps, but the menu item shows up as "Shockwave Flash" and not what the exe is named. How can I fix this? I've seen associated appinfo.ini files with program info, but it dosn't seem to affect what's shown in the menu list.
We're using portableapps to show off our company demos, but having a list of 10 items that say "Shockwave Flash" is no good at all.
Hi Guys
I've been using Thunderbird, firefox and a few other things on my usb stick for a while now. I would like to upgrade from my 2Gb stick to and 8Gb one but I am having problems getting the apps to move without corrupting. I know i can reinstall onto the new drive but i don't want to lose existing application data. In particular thunderbird, as i don't want to lose my mail and settings.
Hi,
I am on a dial-up connection and for large downloads, I have to depend on a download
manager. I use the highly touted DownThemall extension in both versions of my FF -
2 & 3. I've noticed a change in mirrors at SourceForge - ex: the Virgina mirror is gone, replaced by one in New York. This isn't the issue, but since this change, my
downloads won't pause whenever I'm ready to shut my system off. I have to cancel the
download and this is preventing me from downloading some of the larger things like
Open Office and PA menu light. I was curious if anyone else has this problem, if so,
Hi all
At work we have 'Web Marshal' installed to stop us doing anything on the internet.
Will Portable Apps help me get around this problem & can it be traced?
Cheers for any info

after searching the forum here before, for the best usb stick, since one month now, i have a Rally Turbo 4gig and i like to say that this stick is amazing fast!
my transcend 2gig went nearly to the bin
so if you are unsure what stick to buy, be sure that the Rally turbo 4gig works very fine.
hope it helps some

Hi,
I'm trying to decide between U3 and PortableApps and want to understand hwo the two differ or are similar. I have had a browse through the site but cannot find anything to compare it to U3. Does the Portable Apps platform have a standard boot partition and then mount a virtual partition in the same way that U3 does?
Hello from Germany,
I discovered this programme-package by chance. And after only knowing it for 24hs I think it could be quite revolutionary for schools!!
I would suggest that this should be promoted because I think hardly a school knows about it (at least here in Germany).
If every pupil in school would carry this as natural as he does carry his pencilcase... just imagine.
Do you work on this... what can I do for it?
Take care, Enno
Hope this is the correct forums to suggest new features
The new Eject is really useful, but would it be possible to add a flyout where you can Eject Only or "Backup Then Eject" ?
The backup could be fully automated, just taking note of settings of the last manual backup.
This way, at the end of the day, I / we could get an option to save away all our data.
