Have following suggestions...

[1]
After downloading/trying various apps both from here and other similar websites, I've noticed that the term "portable" is not accurate and used 'loosely'. Some, perhaps most, apps are TRULY 'portable' - i.e. can be copied/pasted anywhere and they will run. However, several won't. I suggest listed apps ought to come with qualifiers:...

PORTABLE: to mean TRULY portable, can be copied/pasted anywhere and will run regardless

STATIC: after initial install, app cannot run elsewhere unless re-installed from ~.PAF

Open with... app (PortableApps.com Launcher)

When I want to open, i.e. a .txt with notepad++, have to browser in the PortableApps folder and choose the application. That's OK.

What I don't like is that then, in the contestual menu, I have a long "caption" (is it correct? :puzzled:): "Notepad++ (PortableApps.com Launcher".

Is it possibile to have in contest menu just "Notepad++ Portable", changing a global setting in some ini of portable apps?

I always change a cuple of registry keys, but after an update or something that goes beyond my comprension, that voice returns long as I said before.

How to run an app as another user?

Submitted by rpr on February 19, 2013 - 9:20am

Hi!

On Windows 7 Pro. SP1 I log in as a user who is not an administrator in Windows but only a "restricted" user (more precisely, the user is not a member of the local Administrators group but is only a member of the local Users group). Sometimes I need to run an app as another user in Windows, namely as a user who is an administrator on the local machine or an administrator in a Windows domain (in corporate environment). I can't find a way to do it in PortableApps 11.2.

Any idea why when browsing the forum today trying to go back doesn't work? Using IE 9 on Win 7. Using the Back arrow or Alt+Left shows links pointing to:

I know I can add the URL to my Security page but why/where is this coming from all of a sudden?
