I would like to get rid of U3...

...on my Cruzer Titanium 2GB and replace it with the PortableApps Suite but there's a few things that I want to have first.

1. I like the autorun feature that comes on the drive. I would like to set it up so that it runs the Portable Apps suite. I think I've seen that happen but I don't want to wreck my $60 drive in the process of hacking it, and if I replace U3 with Portable Apps, I want all that U3 crap off of there while still keeping the autorun.

I tried the portable skype that is posted somewhere in this forum (I can't find it again and that's why I'm starting a new annoying post about portable skype... Blum ).. it have something strange... when you clink on PAM: "Profile was not found. Please check your configuration"... then if you open the PortableApps folder, go to the Portable Skype folder and double click in the launcher... it works!!!

What's happening?

I know we can run mIRC from any portable device just copying the mIRC folder into the device, and the new version of mIRC can be run with the option -portable so it will not use the Windows registry, but...

My question is, How can I run "mIRC.exe -portable" from PortableAppsMenu in just one click? or How can I create a shortcut with the option -portable to run it from PAM?

Thanks in advance.-

Documents vs My Documents folders

Submitted by wcameron on March 24, 2007 - 6:25pm

While Portable Aps creates a Documents folder, some installations like the Portable Skye installation looks for (and creates on installation) a My Documents folder. Do I need to keep the My Documents? will other software look for this by default? It seems like Portable Aps is hard wired to use the Documents folder when you use the control menu.
