Start Programs on Plugin and Eject

Submitted by Isaac Waller on June 27, 2008 - 2:35pm

version 0.4 - see comments for downloads

I have created a program that lets you start programs on plug-in or eject of the drive. It starts all programs listed in the Autostart.ini file and then the PortableApps.com Menu. You place it in the root directory of your drive (F:/,G:/,etc) and set it instead of StartPortableApps.exe as the Autorun executable. This program would be useful if you have Miranda or Portable Skype and you want to start it as soon as you plug it in. It is very simple, but some people may find it useful until it is integrated into the PortableApps.com Menu.

Hi!
PNotes development team in the person of mine is proud to announce about version 4.0.100 (beta) of PNotes and 2.5.101 of PNSkinCreator. BTW, don't think this is an easy job to head the one person team - hot discussions, reproaches, personal insults and absolute lack of respect Smile
Well, what's new:
1. Search/replace capabilities (for all notes or for individual note)

As a way to help testers as they are testing new apps as they came, i came up with a series of templates.

The idea is to always to use the general stuff so that dev knows what the general info is and then pick the template you want to use

here they are:

General Information

    General Stuff
  • OS:
  • Rights:
  • What Release(Dev test # or Pre-Release #):

Here is the code for it

SHQueryRecycleBin (Windows 2000 Testers Needed)

Submitted by wraithdu on June 24, 2008 - 10:01am

Hi everyone, I could use a little testing help again. This is a tiny test program for a function to query the Recycle Bin status. This is going into the EraserDropTarget rewrite, so I need to make sure it'll work correctly on Win2k (MSDN is a little shady again).

It will pop up 2 message boxes that show the size and number of items in the Recycle Bin. The first one queries the Bin on the C:\ drive, the second queries all Bins on all drives. What I need to know is if anything crashes or fails with bad data, specifically the second function call (2nd message box).

IcoFX Portable (Launcher Only) - Test 1

Submitted by Patrick Patience on June 23, 2008 - 11:03pm

Application: IcoFX
Category: Graphics & Pictures
Description: IcoFX is an absolutely lovely utility for editing, creating, and doing other things with icons. It's quite handy when you have some batch editing to be done, and it's the only closed source piece of software I use on Windows. Word on the street is is may become open source at some point in the future. I have no idea when.

SpeedCrunch Portable 0.10.1 Pre-Release 1

Submitted by Patrick Patience on June 23, 2008 - 9:34pm

Application: SpeedCrunch
Category: Utilities
Description: SpeedCrunch is a sweet algebraic calculator with some awesome features. It has a beautiful interface with syntax highlighting, history of expression (up down like in the command prompt), unlimited variables, and much more. If that's more than you need, don't let it scare you away. SpeedCrunch has a very simple interface for performing any simple math.
