PC hardware advice (home PC died *sad*)

Update 1 Dec 09: It's fixed now, long story short the PSU I put in fixed it.

Well, let's see... where to begin? Well, you guys know I'm no big fan of Windows 7. Got the beta, got the RC, both ran like garbage (but, it was the 64-bit version). Guy my wife works with tells me he's got the 32-bit version running on a 1.3GHz P4 with 1GB of RAM and it "runs fine", so I spring for the upgrade. Been running it 2 weeks, it's alright. Not as snappy as I'd like, but I got the new Windows. XP about to go out of support, so it's not the best to keep, for too long.

Blender

I want to try a hand at animation (it's either that or debugging :P), but apparently my library website is down (I would say good riddance, but it lists my books) and the local university library doesn't have it either. Are there any good Blender tutorials for people who live in reality and find good videos addictive (still can't believe there's no good portable video editor :().
Any help is appreciated.
(By the way, if you're wondering, I plan to print this out }:) because I work faster when reading paper).

How can I launch multiple programs easily?

How can I start multiple programs with one click, or one double-click?

Every time I plug in my portable drive, I need to not just launch the portable apps menu, but I also need to launch Fonts Portable, PortableFileAssociator, XAMPPLauncher, Apache server, MySQL server, and a few other items. I need a program that is easily configurable that will read a list of programs from in INI file and launch them all.

If there is one already out there, it would be easier to use it than to re-invent the wheel. If it doesn't exist, and there is any interest, then I'll make one.

Running from exe on a restricted network.

I am at a college in the UK which has a fairly restrictive network. The campus internet filter (Tru-view) is terrible but luckily an old version of Firefox portable is on the main server so everybody can use it and browse freely (with the exception of websites blocked by the city college filter, which is actually quite good. Although it does not allow some coding sites such as ROM hacking or other hobbyist stuff).

I officially hate Google

I'm a pretty secure guy when it comes to online activities. I've been a long time supporter of Google ever since it started. Recently I've decided to use Google without any security softwares enabled, especially my ad blockers; one of the most hated things you can come across online are ads..
