Just out of curiosity, when did strong replace b for bold, em for i for italics, and br / for br for line breaks? Seems kind of silly. I mean, whatever, but what, again, was wrong with the old codes? Just curious about that.

Does Quicktime Alternative play files that VLC can't?

Hi, I plan to backup my laptop once a week using CD's. However, they only store up to 700MB so I can't create disk images. Because I want to be on the safe side, I'd like to fill up as much of a CD as I can, so

1. What part(s) of my XP laptop do I backup,
and
2. Is there a *portable* program out there that can eliminate some of the manual work required here?

OK. This is just a small rant from a technically challanged individual.

As far as I understand the philosophy (or at least part of it) of OpenID the idea is to be able to browse the whole web with just one ID. That's cool, in a lot of cases. I can really appreciate the idea.

But why aren't there any forums/forum software that supports it.

I mean I'm not that active of a user but even I'm on at least a dozen of forums and it's totally irritating having to register at each and everyone of them and then store my login info somewhere and so on. It sucks. It really does.

Well I've asked in a couple of threads about Skype portable launchers if they work with 4.x, but haven't gotten any answers so I thought I'd ask here as well... Is there a portable launcher for the Skype 4.x version?
