Hi all

This question mainly for john but if anyone else wants to weigh in I will appreciate the extra info. What software is PortableApps.com is built with. I know you use Drupal but what else? Kompozer? GIMP? Dreamwaeaver? Photoshop? Filezilla? Apache? XAMPP? TinyMCE? Notepad++? Expression Web Designer?

I'm guessing a lot is done with Notepad++ but do you build all the pages from scratch like that?

I'll be MIA

Hey Guys,

As some of you may know, I get my internet threw my local college as a lab tech.

Well, the semester ends today. So, I'll be in and out whenever I can find some body who will spare me a few packets.

That being said, I'm still going to work on the projects I have, just for right now, I can't be as active on the forums and IRC as I'd like to be.

Hopefully, I'll get a home internet connection, or I'll figure out how to jack a blackberry to the computer if I get one of those. Who knows?

Probable FP by ClamAV [reported]

FYI:
A Probable False Positive is being reported by CW for the following files:

C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\wextract.exe: Worm.Waledac-2299 FOUND
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ wextract.exe: Worm.Waledac-2299 FOUND

as of definition versions of at least 9313 to 9318 [updated this morning]

VirusTotal and Jotti both find the files clean other than for ClamAV.

I do Not recommend allowing the deletion of these files.
A false positive report has been filed with ClamAV

Alternate Rendering of PA's Forum Outline Style

Submitted by Augi on May 1, 2009 - 2:58am

I get the benefits to the way these forums are rendered; independent issues within a thread can be addressed independently of one another by replying to specific posts in the topic. This makes sense if everyone replies to one's issue of interest and not just the last post in the thread. I image the current thread outline is intended to reduce the amount of quoted material. This reduces the length of the thread and minimizes confusion of addressing the posts.

"The enemy" found my blog

By "The enemy" I mean that "other" site that uses JTH's logo and slogan to pimp warez.

Back in February I wrote an article pimping the PortableApps.com menu/suite 1.1, and then updated it when 1.5 came out. I need to write a note about 1.6 but maybe I ought to wait till it comes out of beta.

Portable "EXE" Launcher?

Submitted by Kevster on April 27, 2009 - 2:30am

I don't know if this is spam r not, but is there a portable program that can launch any exe by drag and drop? Reason I need to find one is because I'm hiding games in JPEG files trick, where you make a folder in C/: drive and a picture in the folder along with other files. Then open the command prompt and type C + or something like that.

Point is I need a new way of launching the executables without unpacking it or packing it into a "winrar archive" and unpacking it.

I tried Googling it already but only found off topic things.

PHP Question

Hey, I'm just delving into web design and am wondering if anyone knows of a good resource for PHP development, preferably a forum (I can find static resources just fine).

Or, if anyone here might be able to help, basically I'm trying to create an RSS feed that updates every time a new file is uploaded into a web folder. The feed would just include some information about that file. I am able to do it by hand but it would be nice to be able to automate the feed. Thanks.
