Website (With introduction movie)

Dropbox is an online backup/syncing/sharing service in private beta.
It has a special client which automatically uploads new files/changes to the server and works very similar to subversion. Dropbox keeps older revisions of files so they can be restored trough a web interface.

It basically creates a folder in 'My Documents' which it monitors.
In addition to that it has one Public folder and one Album folder.

Vista 32 versus 64

Submitted by keizer_or on August 5, 2008 - 10:23am

I am in the market for a new laptop and I am starting to see many coming loaded with Vista Home Premium 64. My question is, should I get one with 64 loaded? Is it better to stay with 32? Will most programs run on 64? Thank you.

Fast/Slow Thumbdrives

Submitted by gntlhnds on August 4, 2008 - 9:15pm

I use a Transcend 8GB thumb drive. At work I have a locked down W2K machine without admin privileges. At home I have a laptop running XPSP2. My thumbdrive works great at work. It loads quickly, behaves the way it should. I have no complaints. AT home on my XP machine, though, is another story. It is excruciatingly slow on my XP machine. I had read somewhere about thumbdrives running slower on XP machines when they are FAT(32) formatted instead of NTFS. Has anyone had any experience with this?

ok guys I am starting a delphi project and the goal is to have an explorer/web browser program that we can use either for integration of the portableapps.com platform if user don't like xenon or just want to use both (like I would).

I already started the project and got a decent start on a Webbroswer component but it's no file explorer though.

If you are experienced in delphi or have a descent understanding of delphi and want to help out just drop your name here and send off an email to zach(_-at-_)zachthibeau({_dot_})com

Why is SpeedCrunch Portable not in the applications menu?

Why is SpeedCrunch Portable not in the applications menu?

https://portableapps.com/apps/office/speedcrunch_portable

I just spent quite a while looking for a open source calculator to replace MS calc.exe, and it was here all along, but it doesn't show up on the applications menu.

After an initial search here for "calc" and getting everything but. Not even www.osalt.com could help. I've been shifting through dozens of pages and "freeware" apps. Finally decide to try seeing if the firefox extension (from http://code.google.com/p/firefoxcalculator/) would work.
