Portable Fonts

One question about portable fonts:

Can I use subfolders for fonts? (like C:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\Data\Fonts\myspecialfont\font.ttf)

And a quick note: I think the paragraph about fonts should be added to the suite support page.

Cornice and Win7 64bit

Submitted by romulous on October 16, 2011 - 9:12am

Hi,

Could someone with Win 7 64bit please check to see if Cornice runs on that OS? I have just installed it, and nothing happens when I run it. I can see the PortableApps launcher in Task Manager, I can see it launches the main Cornice executable - but the Cornice executable then immediately closes (presumably followed by the launcher).

If someone else can verify that it works on Win 7 64bit, it must be something on my system that is the problem.

Thanks!

Running program from USB is disallowed, is separate Data folder possible?

Hi!

I often use some computers who disallowed running any executable from removable drives, although I can run them fine after copying it to local drive. So I cannot run PortableApps' applications directly from USB drives.

I can copy the PortableApps folder in entirety to local drive and run it there, but then I have to remember to copy the Data folder back before I left. An operation that can also be risky (if the copying interrupted, I may ended up with highly inconsistent Data folder.

How to get USB stick to autorun on Windows 7?

Submitted by jeffg1 on October 3, 2011 - 6:46am

As a newcomer, I have just installed PortableApps to a USB flash drive together with some of my favourite apps.

When I plug in the drive, Windows 7 thinks it just contains pictures for some reason and only gives me two options: "Import Pictures and Videos" or "Open folder to view files". Is there anything I can change on the drive to force Windows to autorun the Start.exe program?

PS: I did a search on 'autorun' first (of course!), but didn't find anything relevant.
