'Other' portable app only launches from .bat file

Submitted by phay on January 19, 2013 - 4:23am

I recently downloaded Jitsi Portable from sourceforge ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/jitsiportable/ ), unzipped it, and placed it into the PortableApps directory so I can (hopefully) launch it with the PortableApps.com Menu.

The main program directory contains the following 2 files involved in launching Jitsi Portable:

jitsi-non-portable.exe
jitsi-portable.bat

The batch file contains the following 2 lines:
start jitsi-non-portable.exe --config=./data
exit

Best Format, Cluster Size, & Partition for PApps Suite on my Hard Drive?

Submitted by Logos A on January 17, 2013 - 7:55pm

I posted this in the PortableApps.com Platform section but moved it here.

Im going to run my PA install from a separate partition on my main hard drive. So I need some suggestions. Not a long discussion since theres plenty of similar threads with differing information

1) Logical or Primary? Im guessing it needs to be logical right?
2) Fat, Fat32, or exFat (new xp plugin)->https://portableapps.com/node/18054
3) Best Cluster size?

Option to "Pin" to start menu/taskbar

Submitted by rectitude on January 15, 2013 - 6:13pm

I think this is great software and I install it religiously across my many workstations at both home and at work however now that there is the download function; it seems kind of redundant to call them "portable" any more and I require more support, as when I install the platform on C: e.g. Program Files -vs- PortableApps (it doesn't even show a folder destination, which might be ok in some circumstances but doing this 20x a day :/) I have to go into the drive in order to start anything.

I think PA.com needs more options, so can they be delivered?

Could anyone please help me with my password protected USB drive?

Submitted by mrg62 on January 15, 2013 - 9:15am

I've got a Toshiba Usb flash drive with password protect on it. (Lockv241)
This is the user guide: http://www.inov8-memory.co.uk/downloads/UDPv224.pdf

I've stupidly forgotten the password and I've only got one more chance to try it before it reformats my whole disk.
IS there anyway I could unlock the usb/ access the protected files or even restore them if the disk is reformatted.

Any help is appreciated because this is very urgent.
Thank you
