Can anyone recommend a very lightweight invoicing/receivables app for personal use?
I have no regular Java installed on the Windows system.
But strangely I can still bulk upload files to Box.com via it's Java bulk uploader. I don't have to start anything. So the Portable Java works automatically with Portable Iron without starting anything?
The main problem is it crashed my PC! It reboots from the Java multi-uploader all the time.
I want to know when will will portable apps 12 (beta) will be released.
The extension manager looks cool.
so, I finally get around to buying a Window 7 laptop (still use my ond XP desktop as my main computer),
and I see that yes, when you right click on a file the Version tab is gone.
This is annoying because with Portable Apps that use an online installer (eg: Google Chrome Portable), by downloading the online.paf.exe and right clicking it (in XP) I can get the info to download the chrome_installer.exe, which when placed in the same folder as the online.paf.exe will allow for a 'offline' install
It is probably a (very) bad idea to re-allow devices to autorun (especially on work computers), it was disabled for a reason.
But for those who want to do so I saw an interesting story on raymond.cc
How to Make Windows Autorun USB Flash Drives

The first of the two programs looks promising.
I just noticed one item needing to be updated on the PAF format page: EULA.txt should now be located in App\Appinfo, as opposed to Other\Source.
I don't remember when that change came in, a couple PAI versions ago, I think.
hello!
while portable app concept is very handy, we often need to somehow integrate our portable app in our system, for example, i want to set my system to handle by default zip files with my portable zip app
so, along with each portable app, i suggest that there should be a script that will perform such useful system integration actions, and ofcourse not the other useless system integration that the normal app would do to the system (eg. create files and folders in a folder outside its own, change system files, write useless registry entries, etc)
thanks!
So I have downloaded and installed the PortiableApps software on a windows 2008 server on a partitioned drive. I have séance then mapped a few computers to this drive and some of the functionality works great and others do not I hope someone can help with this please!
The main purpose of this is to give access to all files shared on the server and that part works well were in lies the problem and as I thought it may before starting this process is the apps.
As some folks have noticed, we have been experiencing a dramatic rise in spam. Even with captchas for registrations and email confirmations before posting, we have days when the number of spam messages attempting to be made reaches 3,000. To fight this, we've been using Mollom as an antispam service. It has been keeping 95-99% of those messages from being posted at all, but several each day will still get through and need to be manually moderated. Additionally, some users have been stuck needing to solve a captcha or having to alter a link to be able to post their messages.
Is the Paint.NET portable usable from https://portableapps.com/node/26591 ?
It seems a little out of date. I have a copy which originated from https://forums.dropbox.com/ here.
It runs, but I wonder if it is reliable.
Thanks
