General discussions of portable apps and news.
Hi, I had used the News upgrades history list back to June 09 as a source of checking that I had the most up-to-date version of apps but find today that the list only goes back to Nov 09. what has happened to the rest?
thanks
debbie
My Kingston 32gig often gets a corrupted file, usually in a sub-directory, that instead of having the name it shoud it has u-u and cannot be deleted without re-formatting the drive. I have tried fat32 and ntfs. any ideas?

Since there´s no Tips & Tricks forum, I assume the better place to post may be here.
I´ve seen a lot of people asking how to create shortcuts with relative paths in windows, some say it´s just no supported etc etc At the end of the day there are several ways, like creating a windows shortcut files (.ink) or using a bat file wich can be converted to an exe with an icon file. Anyway non of both are ideal / have several disadvantages, so I´m going to share a method that works great for me and hopefully it may be useful for you as well.
Hi
My antivirus software picked up a virus / malware in the downloaded file
PAK_GENERIC.001
Is this an issue?
Can Portable CCleaner (https://portableapps.com/node/12969) clean my Portable Firefox and other PortableApps, and how?
I'm getting a new PC soon and I'm not sure whether I should get 32 or 64 bit Windows 7. Right now I'm very happy with my portable apps on 32 bit XP. Can I expect to get the same smooth experience on 64 bit Windows 7?
Hi,
I'll add my opinion of the requirement of the filename of the portable app installer which need internet connection. I think that is so molest. I think is better a window that request the approbation of the internet access, also as the license screen.
