I am a new convert to portableapps and have to say that I think it's fantastic!

Having recently wiped by drive due to it getting a virus, I'm looking to do the two following things:-

1) Is it possible to have the drive automaticaly scan for viruses/spyware etc when new data is put onto it?

I had the clamAV installed, but think that as I placed some data directly into a folder which I think existed outside of the portableapps partition, it missed it, I'd like to it to do an auto scan of both partitions of any data placed/modified.

I was very comfortable with my 512 MB USB with around 100 MB public area and the remaining 400 MB partition locked using the 'software key' provided with the thumbdrive. But last day when I tried to open the drive in my computer, an error message came that 'there is no drive in the port'.
I could see it there in 'My Computer',but the capacity was shown as zero ( used space-o, free space ) in its properties .

Hi all,
Just created a portable seamonkey from firefox portable and it s working fine.
I followed these steps

1) downloaded firefox portable.
2) deleted App/firefox folder.
3) downloaded seamonkey zip file.
4) Extracted it in Apps folder.
5) Renamed "seamonkey" to "firefox".
6) Renamed seamonkey.exe to firefox.exe

Can anybody point me toward some good, fast USB keychain flash drives?

I'm currently using a really fast Samsung 1GB unit that works great, but when I tried to move over to a 2GB Lexar Firefly, I found that Firefox was unbearably slow. So slow, in fact, that the drive is basically useless for this purpose.

Unfortunately, there's no real way to compare most drives through online shopping, since they're all advertised as "high-speed USB 2.0". But we all know some are faster than others, right?

I'm not asking to do it portable... i'm only telling that now it have a free version fully functional, no limitations, personaly I love this app cause it have file association integrated.

Hello, I have a Problem with the design of portable apps. When I install it on a stick or my local hard drive, it looks like this . (wait at least 10seconds!)

I have an nvidia GeForce 7650GS with the latest display driver and WinXP professional.
Does anybody know, why the layout is messy?

If I want to move the Portable apps suite that I setup already on one card to another card do I just copy the entire contents and it will work or i need to reinstall it all on the new card?

Hello! I'm use PortableApps and this cool But, i'm need in launched 3-4 applications at once time, ex. - AIRoboformPortable, FirefoxPortable, PidginPortable, TotalCmdPortable. Click, Click, Click, Click, Click, Click, Click, Click... - this is dummy

OK, I am having a few odd issues that have shown to be related to or are resulting from the use of portable apps...

1. My laptop will not boot to the login screen unless whatever portable medium I am using is removed. It will boot fine when the SD card or USB key is completely disconnected from the computer, but if I forget to take it out, the computer will hang after the windows boot screen, but before the login screen until the portable device is removed. This only happens on my laptop and only ntil the device is removed.
