For those of you who use a small picture of yourself as your icon/avatar...
Could you post in this thread/node a link to a bigger picture of yourself?
These little pictures are really driving me crazy
At this point I'm really dying to see what John H and BuddhaChu really look like.
The little pictures have peaked my curiosity, really they have.
Alright i'm standing at a cross roads my old USB died the other day and its time for an upgrade. My problem is this U3 Vs PAM which is better. Can i use U3 apps on Pam or vice versa is there a way to convert them? And i tend to get random applications and put them on my usb drive can i make it so that i can easily access those from the menu interface?? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated
When I try to import my email settings from Netscape 7.2 into Thunderbird portable it only give me a choice of Netscape 4.0. How do I get me email settings imported. Thanks.
Yeah I know I'm not John Haller. Sorry. I should add I don't even know him. I just visit here.
Interestingly there seems to be no mention of this new update on the front page. I only found out because BetaNews linked to it, and the Firefox Portable page itself shows the new version. So I figured I'd post a topic in case anyone else missed it.

Annnd here's Firefox 2.0.0.9 release notes for good measure:
Hey guys! I have been working on making a ton of u3 compatible programs. I recently hosted about 17 out of 25 on my blog. This is including Adaware 2007 and Google Earth.

I've been using the fabulous XrX PortableApps Menu Mod (I hope the additional features will eventually make it to the official version). I have been using the startup/exit functionality as well as the ability to execute VBScripts. I have some custom programs that require writing to the registry, so I wrote a bit of VBScript code to handle this. I created a directory in the PortableApps folder called Scripts
and placed two .vbs files: start.vbs
and exit.vbs
.
I close all of my open programs then use the eject button on the MOD R30 PAM, I get the message that all programs on the drive are being close and after that the drive can be ejected. When all is finished, and I try to eject my drive, I get:
"The device 'Generic volume' cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again later."
If I run EjectScript 0.4 on my drive, it tells me that there is nothing running on the drive. So what is keeping the drive from being ejected?
Hey, I hope I didn't just miss this when I searched, but when the PAM searches for EXEs it includes EVERY EXE in a given folder. Is there a way I can remove the extra EXEs, like the ubiquitus w9xpopen?
Thanks a bunch, I use this every day!

John and all,
I really love PortableApps, and my dream would be to have the same little usb key working on windows, linux and mac os. I ran into http://openlina.org and it seems to me that this project makes that dream achievable. I could, of course, do my own open source project to merge the 2 concepts (PortableApps + OpenLina) but it would make much more sense that it comes from PortableApps.com.
Any thoughts?
