Java is cross-platform, most of Java Apps don't need install(unpack and use), don't read/write Windows registry, don't modify any files except it's profile, don't copy any files but it's install folder, they only depents Java VM.
So many desktop apps is based on Java. eg: Azureus, Eclipse, BlogBridge, CrossFTP, jEdit, JamP, etc. And also, there are so many server/web apps based on Java, eg: Tomcat, JBoss, JavaDB/Derby, HSQLDB, H2, db4o, and other FTP/LDAP/DNS server software. We can use web apps to manage our infomations, in many instance, that's better than desktop apps.
There was a post last year on a Guild Wars Launcher. The link to the launcher is outdated, and I was wondering if there still is a launcher for this? Also, do you really need a launcher?
The post I mentioned: https://portableapps.com/node/1210
How can I simply uninstall PortableApps from my pen drive? :S
John,
Can you give us a few words on the end result of what you are trying to get to?
Just curious if you are designing and growing with no particular end result...
Thanks and keep up the great work...I use this quite a bit.
John
What's with the orange donation button? It looks so much worse than the one which matches the new splashes. (Example of the orange is an app's page on the left, example of the good one is included with FFP's or Toucan's help.html)
Where's the best place to post a question relating to the menu? The individual portable apps have their own forums, but there isn't one for the menu itself. It isn't an Other App, I'm sure.
Hi
I have a couple programs that don't show up on my portable menu. These have I have are portable but when I try to add them to the portable menu 1.1 beta it does not work.
The software is not really legal since it is not open source the program is free and is a messenger program.
I am not sure why it is not showing up.
Hi there,
Lately I look into having portable gpp compiler on my usb.
So I was wondering if msys+mingw's gpp, when run from usb, performs any writings to it? If so how would it be possible to path it elsewhere - like a temp folder on hdd?
Thanks,
ronh
