Do *NOT* buy USB Flash Drives on ebay! (UPDATE!)

I recently bought 2 4GB USB sticks but after a while I discovered they are actually 2GB. Anything more than that will result in empty folders or currupted files. Not so great way to waste 40 Euro.

UPDATE:
I found a reference to an application that FORMATS the USB Flash Drive and restores the USB stick to it's ORIGINAL size!! I managed to restore one of the two drives back to the actual 2GB size.
I didn't get the other 'fixed' yet, but at least this is the real size.

UPDATE 2:

usb drives no more visible in explorer windows

Submitted by ottosykora on October 20, 2007 - 6:09am

Suddenly , I dont know why, when I stick in any usb drive , stick or what evr, it is recognised by the system, the green harware remove symbol in the tray, but the drives are not shown in the explorer view, so they are not accessible at all for me.
I can access then from command line, the remove hardware knows them , also the hardware manager knws them as what they are, but I simply can not brows them.

Autorun: security and usability -- enabling novice users

Submitted by rab040ma on October 19, 2007 - 5:24pm

I've done some searching, and as usual I've found bits and snatches on this subject, but in most other places it has been discussion of why autorun doesn't work.

What I'd like to see is a discussion of how to enable novice users to be able to launch PA comfortably on machines that don't have autorun enabled. For example, the "windows-start" key plus E opens "my computer" in explorer, a couple of clicks opens the PA drive and starts PA. That's what I'd do, but that's probably not something that newcomers would find comfortable ... or is it?

Menu doesn't line up on wide screen

Submitted by JonH on October 19, 2007 - 9:16am

I use my USB portable apps on two computers. One works fine. On the other, a widescreen (17") the menu doesn't line up. For example, there is a about 1 and a half inch black rim on the right and bottom sides of the menu. In addition, the bottom item, use of disk space, does not line up with the place in the menu where they belong and the "x" button doesn't work to shut down the menus. Does anyone else have this problem? Know how to fix it?
