Gpredict (satellite tracker)

Submitted by tuxtoolman on March 2, 2010 - 2:11am

Gpredict is a satellite tracking program for free amateur radio communication using amsat satellites and the International Space Station amateur transponder and radio BBS. Somebody with a walkie-talkie type radio can access these satellites if they can make or bring along a portable yaggi antenna.

Travelers might not have their own computer or PDA but do have the radio gear. It would be nice when at a hostel to plug in a usb drive and track or print out the days satellite passes. The satellite passes only last around 10-15 minutes and are hard to predict without a program.

X-Chat 2 [IRC client]

Submitted by Shadowww on February 28, 2010 - 4:19am

It would be very nice if there would be portable version of X-Chat 2, lightweight and easy to use IRC chat application.

It's open-source, but official Windows build is shareware - but that's not a problem,
there are free unofficial Windows builds, which have exactly same features (except graphical smileys :D) - http://www.silverex.org/news/

It also doesn't uses registry, so I believe it would be easy to make portable version of it.

Warzone 2100 version 2.3 Beta

Submitted by 8ball on February 27, 2010 - 6:22pm

please,

I'm having a hard time making the Beta version portable ( no much experience )

The file/folder structure of this game is strange and different than other games I worked with.

any advise on how to make this portable is welcomed.

you may not have to update the beta ever time, just make one release and once we get the launcher and Folder structure we can copy the new Beta overwriting the old files.

besides, mentioned on their forum that this is the last beta but no word on when the stable 2.3 will be released,

so please, any help.
