I am sure this might have been asked before(but search results returned nothing) but u3 has a cool program that swaps the computers wallpaper with yours and when you leave unswaps it.
I did a good search of wallpaper swapper and I found on this site something about it being in the new menu but I could not locate it in the menu 1.1 once I downloaded.
This is one of the only things keeping me to u3 and I would like to change.
I would like to see a portable version of a financial software for use at home(i.e. something like Quikbooks or Quicken, etc.). The only open source software like this I have been able to find is a program called TurboCASH. If anyone knows of a better open source program for this purpose, I would love to know, and to see THAT program as a portable app on this site. Anyhow, information for TurboCASH as follows:
Program: TurboCASH
License: Open Source/GPL
Description: Financial software like Quickbooks.
I just finished Open Menu+ Portable. It's based on Open Menu+, an open source Start Menu alternative and is designed to be a portable apps menu. If anyone has any suggestions for any additional features, please feel free to submit them with the Contact Us page on SciActive.com.

I scrollled back so far without any luck, so.....
I've got FirefoxPortable on my thumb drive
I've also got Firefox on my desktop machines.
What I'd like is a plugin or portable app or something that would let me sync bookmarks between both versions.
I supposed I could do the same job by syncing everything to a gmail account %|. However, this would require additional call cycles for Firefox to querie gmail, wait for a reply, etc, nevermind the overall bottlenecking that would go with it.
Program: Lolifox
License: Open Source/GPL
Description: a firefox 2 modification with minor performance tweaks ans a new theme.

Do you think it would work as a portable app?
Ultraexplorer has a few unique features like column view and drop stack and i would have liked to have it portable.
If it can not be made portable(not OS, etc) do you think it can be jauntePE-ized?

"IrfanView is a very fast, small, compact and innovative FREEWARE (for non-commercial use) graphic viewer for Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista."
Opens pretty much any image format in existence.

thx.
"The eBook Blues" ......
I was wondering if this could be done. I have a ton of ebooks in Adobe's PDF format and as you would most likely have figured Adobe ebooks are encrypted so they may only be used with Adobe software (which used to be just the reader, but now Adobe forces you to use DE). It looks like Adobe DE is built with flash coding. Is it possible to make a portable version of this to put on your flash drive? It would be really nice to have an ebook reader used this way.
