alternative real autostart for usb-sticks like U3 ?

Submitted by thetrueholly on December 17, 2007 - 10:00am

i'd like to have a real autostart for my PAM, like an alternative for the U3-standard, where i only have to plug-in the usb-stick and the PAM starts automatically without doing anything-
now i realized, that the fritz! wlan-stick i use for my notebook, works the same way as the U3-system, because it also seems to have a partition which simulates a cd-drive and therefore starts and installs the included fritz! software automatically.
now my question: is it possible to copy this to a normal usb-stick to use this autostart-function/ did anyone try this before?

Is it possible to make Amarok portable on a windows PC with just the MP3 decoder (not encoder due to legality reasons)?

Edit: sorry i forgot to search for the similar topic. When KDE 4 comes out in 27 more days could amarok be ported to a portable version for a NT environment?

Thanks

I thought I would post some features I would like on the menu (I would have done them myself but I suck at programming):
1. A program that you install onto the computer and then it starts up PAM on insert in case if there is a computer that autorun is disabled.
2. A start button (I know it's been made before) that runs on vista, is draggable, and has an invsibility mode.
3. Perhaps the ability to have cascading menus to launch your document without Windows Explorer.
4. An on the fly encryption program (I know truecrypt, and I know it requires admin privileges, not found in libraries).

FTP Server / FTPD

Please consider creating a "Portable" version of the slimftpd.

Name of the program: slimfptd 3.181
Website for the program: http://www.whitsoftdev.com/slimftpd/
Description: From the website:

SlimFTPd is a fully standards-compliant FTP server implementation with an advanced virtual file system. It is extremely small, but don't let its file size deceive you: SlimFTPd packs a lot of bang for the kilobyte. It is written in pure Win32 C++ and requires no messy installer.
