Page 2 Stage : decent free, open-source app that's almost portable

Submitted by eyenot on December 20, 2011 - 1:39pm

I recently started writing a screenplay and, having little experience in the field, needed something to help me make it easier on myself.

Enter: Page 2 Stage. It was recently released as freeware by its former maintainers, and they even released the source code.

This seems like a prime candidate for being made totally portable:

* The registered version is free for download from the former producer and they even provide their corporate username and registration key so everyone can register for free.

SmartUtils Portable Storage (http://sutils.com/index.php/smartutils-portable-storage) is an unique and powerful tool for creation of secure portable storages that are fully managed and independent from the main program.

All your data is stored in a single executable file that can be saved on a USB flash drive, PC, laptop or transfered via e-mail or Skype. You do not need to install any software or have administrator privileges to use a storage therefore your data is always available.

Ever heard of Hirens Boot CD?

Submitted by DJ_Trollin on December 16, 2011 - 3:05pm

By the title, I do not mean making a boot CD using the USB. What I'm saying here is there are a vast amount of freeware programs available from the Hirens CD. My suggestion is to use it as a list of some sort to get the apps. They are very popular and yet very helpful. I know I can get all of the apps from Hirens CD and put it on my flash drive. But why not make it accessible to everyone else? I myself could possibly make it portable. But it wouldn't be the same. So could you guys use this as a suggestion and look into the applications the CD has?

Now that TweetDeck no longer requires Abobe Air. Can we get a portable version please?

The website is pretty nasty, especially now they've overhauled it for a 2nd time in a year.

It'd be great to have the windows native app in paf format.

MTPuTTY

Program: MTPuTTY

License: Freeware

Description: MTPuTTY (Multi-Tabbed PuTTY) is a small *FREE* utility enabling you to wrap unlimited number of PuTTY applications in one tabbed GUI interface.

Website: http://www.ttyplus.com/

Other: It uses Native Win32 code and it uses Putty as the backend. It stores it's settings in APPData\TTYPlus\mtputty.xml

It would be awesome if we could add this to the PA collection.
