S3 Backup

Submitted by bflock on May 8, 2009 - 8:02pm

Application: S3 Backup or other S3 type access program

Opensource and Free

S3 Browser is available and is supposed to be Opensource and portable but I have trouble getting it to upload large files. Specifically I'm trying to upload my backup files created from PortableApps and it just seems to sit and sit forever on 2-3 percent.

I'm willing to try other suggestions too.

Thanks

Portable Sandboxie

I was having trouble installing Sandboxie from an old portable version, and went looking for an update. Below is a link to get an updated portable installer that lets you point to the latest normal installer version and your .ini. Use it if you like this app and want it portable.

Codecs

Submitted by mxppy on May 8, 2009 - 4:25am

Hi, i'm new here, and after looking around i am unable to find a codec app or something that would allow me to gain the effects of a codec pack like K-Lite. I think it would be a great addition to the many things available to portable apps. This is because many things like the video players are unable to play many types of videos with the standard windows codecs, and this can be a problem, because many computers where you many want to use your portable apps on will not have many other codecs.

Sound Forge + Video codecs

Submitted by act_tony on May 6, 2009 - 5:08pm

Hello everybody!

I have a question about an app I found. Recently i downloaded sound forge portable version 8 and 9 but in my computer at work those portables are not able to read the codecs to play the videos and i can't intall a codec pack because of restrictions, i was wondering if there is a way to get some portable codecs (like VCL or KM Player that can play anything) in order for the sound forge to open videos. Or maybe is there a version of sound forge out there that is already portable that includes the codecs?
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Byond

It would be nice if someone could add Byond to Portable apps, it's a game network that lets you create your own games and play other peoples games online. I like playing Space Station 13 but Byond needs the internet, the college I go to doesn't allow it to connect but Firefox and aMSN etc work fine under portable apps.
