Rise of Nations Portable

Submitted by quackstar on December 2, 2008 - 9:16am

This would be awesome: Rise of Nations Portable.

Problems:
1)Need CD to run and a quick google search didn't turn up a no-cd crack
2)Registry Entries that i don't know of (i can get them, but you'll have to tell me how)
3)Later on, how to run the extension pack which requires the game to be installed

Now, minus the 3rd option, is it possible?

With the 3rd option, is it still possible?

I found this quite by accident today while checking my e-mail. The site address is http://wikitaxi.org but at this link http://wikitaxi.org/delphi/doku.php/wiki/wikitaxi/index?DokuWiki=67lmaoi... (if it works) Someone asked about using it with PortableApps.com menu. It's a portable version of an offline wikipedia. I think (not sure) it is open source. License is in the program, it appeared to be open source.

K-Melon

I was searching the site for any news of a portable version of K-melon 1.5 but couldn't find anything.

Any news for work on this? I really like the speed and simplicity of this browser over (even) Firefox.

Midi Player

Submitted by 024pr on November 30, 2008 - 9:10am

Hello everybody,

This is my question:

I'd like to have a midi player like Van Basco e.g. (http://www.vanbasco.com/).
I don't care witch program will be made portable, but i want to have two specifications:

1. Playing .MID files ("Player" in Van Basco)
2. Showing the lyrics ("Karaoke" in Van Basco)

And, the option "Output" of Van Basco would be very nice, but is not really needed. It would be really perfect, though.

I think it's possible to make an app portable with these possibilities.
I hope somebody will help me.

Avast!

U3 has a version of Avast AV available, but I'm disappointed Avast isn't a portable app. Is that because Avast isn't Open Source?

If you can't get Avast, you should try to get some other real-time AV scanner. ClamWin is a little bit on the slow side (so it would take too long to check if any computer visited was safe).
