TinyComp is a simple tool to start user defined applications designed to run portable applications and files on a removable

drive without the need to manually explore and browse through the drive. Shortcuts in TinyComp are relative; it can launch

the applications correctly even when the drive letters have changed.

TinyComp also detects the DCIM folder, providing quick access to photos on camera devices. Taking text-based notes and on the

fly editing and running of .bat files also supported.

It can even auto run when removable-drive is plugged into Windows XP. Just activate the "Install on this drive option"

This DBDesigner is quite portable.
BUT the settings folder must be in c:/Documents and Settings/.../Aplications Data
So it would need only to make these settings tomove to the portable app folder.

Portable PGP/GPG suit could be very useful.
I can install GPG4Win on removable disk, but I can't make it to hold key chains anywhere but the C:\Document and settings\....\PGP_something\ folder.

1. metapost is a language/software that can treate a src file and generate accurate EPS file. however, it comes with latex. latex system is huge and not portable, so is there a way to do metapost portable with minimal latex?

2. is there a portable/compact latex?

I'm working on a project in C# at Uni but they don't have compatible software on campus so this would be really helpful.

Gallery 2.0 ( http://gallery.menalto.com ) is a open source web based photo album. It requires Apache, PHP, and MySQL, so it would be a perfect fit for XAMPP. It is very flexible and feature rich. The best thing is that it is fully browser based. No client side software required.

I'm a freshman at Cogswell Polytechnical College in Sunnyvale, California majoring in Digital Art & Animation. I want to specialize in 3D modeling, yet there's a ton of prereqs in order to begin modeling classes. Screw curriculum hierarchies, I'm gonna teach myself for now. As Softimage|XSI and Maya are expensive packages to get my hands on for learning, I've started using Blender.

During off-time at school in between classes, I want to use school computers to practice more on Blender, yet you need administrative privilages to install Blender and python, and frankly it's going to piss the IT guys off if I'm installing Blender on the Photoshop lab computers and so on.

It would be nice if there were a PScummVM.

Currently ScummVM saves the configs and the Filelocations into the registry (or somewhere) in Windows.
Does anybody knows where to get PScummVM or will it be planned for portableapps.com ?
