Discuss portable app development and modification of existing apps.
Hi all,
I want to look at the Source Code and trying a few things. I tried Borland Delphi 7 but it didnt work. So which IDE should i use? And could someone give me a Tutorial how load everything right in the IDE. For Windows would be good, but for Linux would be all right too.
Thanks for reading
Currently I am busy with the preparation of my second portable program. Let me call it "boardgame". In the program folder I found some files as follows:
I encountered a strange problem during packaging Nemp and suspect it a timing issue.
Problem:
Nemp is a little bit "automatic" and starts a wizard at the first launch to query several settings - mostly related to changes made to the system. Even if these are user settings, they could compromise portability (automatic updates, register file types, etc.).
Excuse me, I've searched the forum but didn't got the answer. So I made a new post here.
I'm trying to make a e-book builder called epubBuilder to a portable app. Everything goes fine except one thing. The app stores files open history in a .mdb (Microsoft Access Database) file. Is there any solution to replace driver letter and package partial dir in mdb files? Maybe using a command-line utility? I know nothing about database.
Thanks!
Its quite easy really
!st ... put your IE tor ukcatchup tv folder on your computor desktop .
2nd .... Open a normal firefox browser & install the flash plugin .
The portable ie uk catchup tv needs two files
flashplayer.xpi and NPSWF32.dll Do a serch for them & copy them
3rd ....Copy flashplayer.xpi and NPSWF32.dll to the Firefox Portable directory FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox\plugins
save onto you flasdrive and then you can use your updated portable firefox on your flash drive
Secondary instances (as opposed to secondary launches) create the folder AppnamePortable\Data\Temp. Is that right?
Also, if launched from another portable app (ie: portable file manager), the app's plugins folder is in the file manager's temp folder:
[PortableApps.comLauncher] Status=running PluginsDir=C:\DOCUME~1\xxx\LOCALS~1\Temp\Explorer++PortableTemp\nshFD.tmp
So if the file manager is closed first, it can't delete its own temp folder.
Tested with:
FoxitReaderPortable (secondary launch goes to first instance).
Please Make a separate menu of Apps supported by Linux with wine
Hi, I am a newcomer here and have a question: I have been using and still use the Lotus Organizer 5/6.0 since 15+ years on all Win platforms... and it works even on Win7. The program is good since it even communicates with the Nokia Suite of today!!!
I'd love to have this, and probably it could be a nice addition for your site...
Since there has been no new version from IBM? for a number of years, I wonder if this would be a portable app to make? Is that possible, and what is needed to do that?
Thanks for your attention.

Hello Community!
I've used MPUI-HCB over SMPlayer now for quite a while and I'm deeply impressed by its performance and usability.
The Interface shows up within a second even on slow machines and there are no depencies (all you need is mplayer.exe and mpui.exe)
Take a look here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/mpui-hcb/
What do you think? Give it a try.
I also recommend disabling the automatic popup for subtitle-download in the options.
