[Fixed] darktable 5.4.1 update breaks the scripts manager

Submitted by mmjoshi on April 9, 2026 - 10:46am

I upgraded to darktable 5.4.1 from 5.4.0. In the 5.4.0 version the scripts manager would load when the application was opened. However, this doesn't happen with the 5.4.1 version.

I am including the links to the to the images which will explain the situation better.

Gimp 3.2.0 Portable - Plugins not Working

Submitted by ak2yny on April 2, 2026 - 8:10am

Non-default plugins don't show up, no matter what folder they're added to. It seems like a change in GIMP is responsible. It does work when GIMP is installed with the official installer, though (i.e. if I add the plugins to AppData/Roaming/GIMP/3.2/plug-ins). I also noticed that the plugin names appear on the splash screen, when GIMP is loading. I haven't been using earlier GIMP 3 versions from PortableApps.com, but I used samjcreations' v 3.0.2 (where it was working). As far as I can see, the 3.0.4 fix is included in GIMP 3.2.0 Portable, as seen in:

darktablePortable update not detected

Submitted by Rando3554 on February 1, 2026 - 7:02am

I've been eagerly checking for the darktable update via the PortableApps interface and nothing had been showing for quite some time. Yesterday I decided to check the darktable webpage on the PortableApps.com site and lo and behold there was an update (version 5.4) from the end of December.

This is the only app I know of (so far) where an update wasn't detected.

Anyway, I got the update so I'm a happy camper now, but I thought I'd report the issue.

GIMP 3.0.6 (revision 1) Python-Fu - my scripts do not appear in GIMP menus

Submitted by pootmonkey on January 26, 2026 - 3:03am

GIMP 3.0.6 (revision 1) Python-Fu - my scripts do not appear in GIMP menus.
I'm running it on a Windows 10 laptop, with all updates available up to the end of service date.

(Thanks, John T. Haller -- and everyone else who works on these projects, making great stuff available!!! John, I see your name all over, and in particular for the PortableGIMP project, so that's why I'm thanking you by name.)
