Call running KeePassPro with command line arguments

Submitted by hunhejj on November 21, 2018 - 9:26am

Hi,
first of all I am happy to see that KeePassPro is now available on portableApps! I wanted to do the switch but I am missing a key feature.

I have some batch scripts that call KeePass with command line arguments. If an instance is running already, the arguments should be passed to that running instance. This works with the original KeePass as expected however it does not work with the portableApps version. Command line arguments are passed to the instance only when it is not running in the background yet. This is a showstopper for me. Could you please fix that?

KeePass v2 should be renamed from "Pro/Professional" to "2.x"

PortableApps has recently released its first ever .NET supported PortableApp, KeepAss v2. However, despite proven otherwise, it keeps calling it "KeePass Pro Password Safe Portable 2" or "KeePass Professional Password Safe Portable".

I'll quote from https://keepass.info/devstatus.html#classicpro :

McAffee Stinger, Unable to Download

Submitted by FeMaster on June 14, 2018 - 11:06pm

Have been trying all day to update to the latest version of Stinger (12.1.0.2908), released on 6-13-18, and the download keeps failing. Tried to update using the updater in the PortableApps Platform, and via manual download of the installer. Both indicate that they fail to download.

Platform Updater states, "Download Error: File Not Found (404) on file..."
Standalone updater: "The installer was unable to download Stinger. ... (ERROR: SendRequest Error)

[Fixed] GPGShutdown does not shutdown dirmngr.exe

Submitted by CarlosCastaneda on May 24, 2018 - 8:39am

I installed Enigmail extension within Thunderbird. So, when I'm about to shutdown portableapps launcher a message is displayed that portableapps can't stop because dirmngr is still running.
When Thunderbird is shut down then GPGShutdown is called which properly terminates gpg-agent but leaves dirmngr running.

GPGShutdown should also terminate dirmgr. dirmngr can't even be terminated by means of gpgconf: .\portableapps.com\PortableApps\CommonFiles\GPG\bin\gpgconf.exe --kill dirmngr

Keepass 2 - Database, plugins and settings removed on update

Submitted by acicovic on May 20, 2018 - 9:22am

Hi,

First of all, it's great to have KeePass 2 on PortableApps!

Today when updating to the latest KeePass version, my database, settings and plugins got lost.

I had placed settings and database in "PortableApps\KeePassProPortable\App\KeePassPro\" directory.
I had placed plugins in "PortableApps\KeePassProPortable\App\KeePassPro\Plugins\" directory.

Where should I place those files in order to avoid trouble in the future?

Thanks!

Integrate KeePassXC portable with Firefox Portable via the addon

Submitted by getco on April 4, 2018 - 11:05am

Has anyone tried integrating KeePassXC portable with Firefox Portable via the KeePassXC-Browser addon (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/keepassxc-browser/)

I think there might be a problem with the fact that FF is portable and KeePassXC can't intercept it somehow?

Any ideas?
