Well, yesterday, Google released it's new open source browser 'Chrome'. Notice I said "open source". Let's get this thing on thumbdrives across the globe. And, yes, it's fast and gorgeous.

sub-menu

Submitted by iortanca on August 31, 2008 - 5:55pm

As many portable applications are being available day by day, portableapps menu is getting insufficient. I think developing a new suit, capable of sub-menus would be very useful. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION

Hi guys!
This theme includes some "funny" sounds simply played by clicking one of the colored buttons on the left side.
They could be replaced easily by replacing, the sound icon could be replaced too.
So, if you are bored, play a sound so everyone is looking at you Wink

JkDefrag 3.35 - TrueCrypt

Submitted by Travis Carrico on August 29, 2008 - 10:24am

well JkDefrag 3.35 is out and i need to upgrade. this release now supports truecrypt drives etc. i'm going to be pretty busy this weekend so if someone possibly has both truecrypt and autoit installed and some free time on their hands maybe you could save me some time by telling me what autoit detects truecrypt drives as. you can use this script

$var = DriveGetDrive( "all" )
If NOT @error Then
	For $i = 1 to $var[0]
		MsgBox(4096,"Drive " & $i, $var[$i] & " is " & DriveGetType($var[$i]))
	Next
EndIf

Second Life Launcher

Submitted by logomage on August 27, 2008 - 5:20am

I read that Second Life keeps all its files in the one program folder when installed on a pc.

So I took the batch script suggested by The Travelin' Librarian (http://www.travelinlibrarian.info/2007/01/second-life-portable.html), modified it to run silently by removing the pauses and then compiled it as a ghost exe with the icon extracted from the secondlife.exe itself.

I then created a sub-folder in the PortableApps folder on my usb stick into which I put this ghost exe and a copy of the Second Life program folder installed on my pc.

Where is Portable Apps Menu Source Code?

Submitted by Dragnovich on August 26, 2008 - 9:38pm

Hello I had been using this program for a year and Love it!!

A friend of me askme about the license, reading the license.txt file says this:

"The source code for this product is available to you under the terms of the GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE v2 (included below) from PortableApps.com"....

Reading this, as far I understand, I can download it, modify it and even create, and distribute a "personal flavor" of the portable apps program (keeping the respective credits).

I try to find the PortableAppsMenu Source codes, but can't find them... so where are they?
