Edit: Due to the large amount of addons, I am only listing those that are known NOT to be portable. Please only report addons that don't work.

As an avid user of FireFox Portable, I use alot of addons. However, I don't like to leave traces on the PCs I visit. So I decided to begin a short list of addons that are not portable. If you know an addon that is not portable, please comment.

Master Password Prompt in Private Browsing

Submitted by arizona480 on September 21, 2009 - 3:51am

I've been looking for an add on that will prevent the Master Password prompt from coming up and have had no luck. Is there a setting to keep this from appearing? I have eBay customers using Pay Pal on my computer to pay for items they pick up and figured that "Private Browsing" would be faster than closing my FF and starting up a guest profile or using the IE Tab, but they have to cancel the Master Password prompt multiple times. Any Ideas?

FFP 3.5.3 Constantly Crashing?

Submitted by GrahamG on September 20, 2009 - 11:23am

Have been using FFP for the last few days and it is Angel constantly crashing; or (b) just hanging.

I've used earlier versions of FFP and the installed version without any problems - so what's happened now?

OS: Vista Home Premium (but this has been the same OS throughout).

This is such a disappointment. I'll try downgrading to an earlier version.

Any ideas?

RocketDock - FireFox problem

Hi

I found this program and looks ok bit different to the portableapps menu but I wondered about how to stop firefox from opening a new window each time.

As I've been mucking around with so-called portable applications generally I found for example Skype you must set a value in the ini file but is there any such thing for Mozilla? Thanks

I installed FF Portable 3.5.3 and now I cannot mark as read in Google Reader using the Shift+A shortcuts. A key feature for me since I use an extremely minimized version of Reader.

I will roll back to 3.5.2 and update this with whether that restores the functionality.

Firefox Portable deletes symlinks

Submitted by itegumo on September 16, 2009 - 10:54am

I use a regular Firefox install on my PC, and Firefox Portable on my USB. On my PC, I moved the C:\Users\\Appdata\Roaming\Mozilla folder to a separate partition, and used the mklink command in Win7 to symlink it. All worked fine until I ran Firefox Portable on my PC... When it exited, it deleted the symlink. This is the only portable app I've used that deletes symlinks. I've done the same thing with Pidgin's .purple folder, Thunderbird's folder, etc, and those portable apps don't mess with my symlinks.
