where are cookies stored?

Submitted by bpmackow on June 25, 2011 - 4:03am

I found a folder on my school user network drive labeled "cookies". It contains cookies from dates when I know I didn't use IE (I used it twice the entire spring semester). I also contained cookies from dates old enough that they should have been deleted when I periodically clear out the cookies.

So what I want to know is, where does Firefox Portable save cookies? There is also ~/FirefoxPortable/Data/profile/cookies.sqlite, could this be it?

Bug in the Locale parameter

Submitted by mgagnonlv on June 23, 2011 - 11:07am

Hello,

For some time (maybe since Firefox 4.0), I think there is a bug in remembering my preferred locale. And my recent forays in PHP seems to confirm it: it is NOT defined.

The problem exists when I use the French portable edition of Firefox 4.01 and now 5.0, on Windows 7 and, I'm almost certain, on Windows XP. And it definitely is unique to the Portable edition of Firefox because the non-portable edition does not have this problem. And starting a new profile doesn't solve the problem.

Thanks.

userChrome.css doesn't work on 5.0

i install FirefoxPortable_5.0_English.paf.exe on c:\FirefoxPortable,
run FirefoxPortable.exe at once and exit,
create C:\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile\chrome\userChrome.css.

userChrome.css is saved on unicode, contains below

@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul");
#browser { -moz-box-direction: reverse;}

Error Console:
Could not read chrome manifest file 'C:\FirefoxPortable\App\firefox\extensions\{972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd}\chrome.manifest'.
Warning: Expected ',' or '{' but found '@'. Ruleset ignored due to bad selector.

Customization in FF3 vs FF4

Submitted by Mickey.Mouse on June 19, 2011 - 11:05am

Our company dictates that IE must be used, the reasons for I wont even get into. prior to FF4 a bunch of geeks just edited the all.js file of FF and happily went along our way using FF without BB knowing or caring.

With FF4 I dont know or see what they did because I cant find that file that used to be located here C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\greprefs\

SO I have to use FF3 until we can find how we can trick the perimeter into thinking FF is no longer an "illegal browser"

Any help would be great.

Firefox 3rd Profile

Submitted by Hsnopi on June 15, 2011 - 10:50am

So I am using the 2nd Profile tool and it worked great for a second profile in FF. It says install it and it will create a third profile. I tried that and nothing happened. When you run it from the PA Installer it never gives an option for a different location. I tried renaming the 2nd profile to 3rd profile and installing The 2nd Profile app again but it didn't work. I couldn't even get the 3rd profile to show up in the PA menu after altering the PAMenu.ini file. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Can anyone give me a hand?
