[Glitch] Dual title bars in Windows XP Pro SP3, Firefox Portable 5.01

Image pretty much speaks for itself. Both sets of window buttons (e.g. minimize, close) work. Only the top one can be double-clicked on for maximize/restore, though.

Right-clicking and adding, then removing the menu bar removed one, but the tabs are now below the address bar, not up on the title bar, and I have a second taskbar entry for "Mozilla Firefox" (where the first one is the title of the page).

Restore Session Not Working

Submitted by KiwiKay on August 9, 2011 - 5:03pm

Ever since my last few Firefox updates (now using 5.0.1 on a Windows 7 machine), the Restore Session feature hasn't been working. The tab titled "Restore Session" comes up, but there are no previous sessions listed in the box to restore, so of course, nothing gets restored. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix for it?

Thanks

Firefox 5 Portable, Sandboxie and urlclassifier3.sqlite

Submitted by dallas7 on August 7, 2011 - 3:26am

I've been using the Mozilla browser since it was called Phoenix. Version 5 is my first foray into its portable iteration. I use FF heavily for commerce and banking and verified all was A-OK especially with my security layering. I began to run it in Sandboxie and again all was A-OK *except* for urlclassifier3.sqlite. It does not update at all. I do notice urlclassifierkey3.txt occasionally getting written meaning that the operation is functional but the sqlite file isn't appended. I wasn't able to gain a solution at the Sandboxie forum. Any ideas? Thanks!

Traces left by Portable Firefox 5.0

Submitted by degiorgi on August 5, 2011 - 9:39pm

I`m running Portable FireFox 5.0 (Version 4.0 > update to 5.0) under windows 7.
It is not installed on a pendrive but in partition E: of harddisk.
There are a lot of traces left in System partition C:
C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\995lnza3.default\ (Files and folders)
C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox (Files and folders)

The question is: Can I avoid this?
What happens if I delete all these files and folders?

Thank you. !!

Profiles Portable <> Local

Submitted by wquatan on August 5, 2011 - 2:00pm

In an older version (out of PortableApps.com_Suite_Setup_1.5.2_en.exe) of Firefox Portable) I was used to copy from my desktop Firefox the profiles.ini, Profiles\v9must0u.default\prefs.js and Profiles\v9must0u.default\sessionstore.js

However, in the new version (installed via PortableApps.com_Platform_Setup_2.0_Pre-Release_2.1.exe) this doesn't work anymore.

Any ideas how I could proceed to have that compatibility back?

I used the same wow for Thunderbird, but haven't looked into it yet.

Firefox Sync doesn't work more than once

Submitted by svehex on August 3, 2011 - 3:43am

When I initially set up Sync, it works the first time, but them every time it automatically syncs, I get an error.

"Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action."

And when I check the settings, my sync key has been changed.

I've cleared the settings and re-synced many times, but the same thing happens. Even when I keep the files on the local hard drive.

External links opening in new window

Submitted by sn1975 on July 27, 2011 - 3:23pm

Hi all,

I am using Firefox Portable 5 and for the past couple of days external links are opening in a new window, rather than a new tab.

As far as I know I haven't changed anything.

The settings in Tools, Options, Tabs specify external link to open in new tab, as does the Tab Mix Plus extension.

I have tried Firefox in Safe Mode with all extensions disabled and also a clean profile that I have using the 2nd Profile app.

With the extensions disabled on my main profile the problem still occurs.

I have also reset all Tab Mix Plus settings to defaults.
