Hi,

I've installed Firefox Portable -latest version on my USB stick, and I've had to manually install all my extesions again. But no matter how many times I restart Firefox, remove the drive, etc. the extensions always say "restart firefox to complete installation." Can anyone help me get them to work properly? I'd be very grateful!
Thanks!
So my work is against Firefox so I hide my copy on a flash drive. However, with this copy i seem to have lost the "back function" button that I have assigned the mouse with (also lost the forward function). It works anywhere else in windows just fine and even in my installed copy of FF.
Anyone know how I can get it back?
Is there an interface that is exported by Portable Filefox that allows one to tap into the HTML stream for an arbitrary URL? Is there a site where I can go to get the API associated with the interface?
I just followed the instructions to install the Shockwave and Flash plugins for PFF, and it was a success! I tested it at http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/ and was wondering how would I update these plugins? Would I need to manually do this process ever 3-6 weeks just to keep up?
While downloading a file via keepvid.com from break.com I had a pop-up ask me if I wished to install an update and it was supposedly from microsoft. Stupidly I did not research the file name or even write it down before saying it was ok to do it. No after I did it I can't download vids via sites like keepvid.com from sites like break.com
Does XP keep a log of what, when and where updates or downloads go to see if I can pinpoint it? If it went into the firefox files where might it have gone?
Anyone else experience the same thing?
Thanks,
Bryan
Impossible. ?!
Portable Firefox 2.0 is a stuff-up:
1. None of the ini files are the same
2. Everything's different.
3. You can't run PFF while another instance of firefox is running.
I ask you then: WHAT IS THE POINT?
Why not code a batch file that copies your profile over everytime you run it, on whatever computer, wherever?!
PFF2 should have it's own forum, if it's so different. It is so utterly frustrating to see an application with so much potential so stuffed up due to shortsighted planning. The do-gooders coding it should just all die.
I have one simple requirement: I need to launch as many independent instances of firefox 2 as possible, without any interference between them.
Hi all,
Is it normal that whenever I modify anything in my bookmarks (add, rename, etc) the old bookmark is stored in a file "bookmarks-n.html" (n=1,2,3,...)? I have quite a huge bookmarks file (around 1MB), and after a few weeks I ended up with more than 100 files "bookmarks-1.html", "bookmarks-2.html", "bookmarks-3.html", etc. that used more than 100MB of space. I could remove them all without any problem.
I would prefer though if this backup-feature (if this is the idea behind) could be turned off, or at least limited to about 3 generations instead of keeping them all. This mechanism
None of my plugins or my themes will install!
They all say "This addon will be installed when Firefox is restarted"
I have restarted it, pulled out my flash drive, switched machines and still no result.
I also uninstalled and reinstalled a few apps and nothing.
Please HELP!
