Importing favorites from Internet Explorer

Submitted by hansof on March 13, 2007 - 7:38am

The problem is that at installing Firefox, my favorites etc. from Internet Explorer are not imported.

The reason may be that at first, I installed Firefox on my harddisk, just to try it. Then, the favorites were installed. Then I removed Firefox from my harddisk, and later installed Firefox on my USB stick. The favorites were not installed. Neither were they installed after removing Firefox and reinstalling the program on my USB stick.

Is there any method to import the favorites after having installed Firefox?

How to update????

Submitted by aksharatg on March 13, 2007 - 1:54am

Hi,
I am using portable firefox version 2.0. I have installed many extensions and themes. I also have cached passwords and browsing history.
How can I update to portable firefox 2.0.0.2 without losing any of my extensions, themes, bookmarks, cached passwords.
Is it safe to use automatic updates?
Is MozBackup (http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/) is compatible with the portable firefox?
Please help me guys....

Undeletable folder staged-xpis

Submitted by Crazytales on March 12, 2007 - 3:45pm

There's something up with my FxPortable. It was in the process of restarting to install Google Toolbar, when the flash drive lost the USB connection somehow. So I plugged it in at another computer, and all seemed well. Not so when I browsed through the extensions folder. The staged-xpis folder under that reports file size as 184GB (my flash drive is only 1GB) and is undeletable. The staged-xpis folder contains a lot of files with garbage filenames and huge filesizes.

Changing icon in titlebar

Submitted by fireuser on March 11, 2007 - 11:39pm

I'm using the latest version of Firefox Portable, and I've followed the instructions for changing the titlebar icon (create a new folder in chrome called icons, then inside that create default, then main-window.ico should be the the new icon), but they didn't work. There are like 5 different chrome folders, and I've tried them all together, and each one separate, still no luck. Has anyone changed the icon in the titlebar successfully; how'd you do it? Or, does anyone know of an extension that could do the same thing for me? Thanks

Image downloading again after full load?

Submitted by gesaugen on March 9, 2007 - 5:30am

Hi ppl!
I have problem with Firefox portable while saving images from the net. While surfing, when I choose to open image in full and it loads in the screen completely, then I choose "save image as" on it, Firefox portable sends it in downloads so I have to wait for image to get downloaded again! (in normal Firefox, when full image is loaded completely, choosing "save as" will save it to chosen location instantly because the image is already downloaded in Firefox's cache)

MSN.com

I use Firefox portable, with MSN.com as my homepage, which has worked great until today. But when I tried to log on this morning I got the following message.
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
