Firefox Portable

This issue has been posted about a few times before, and, if my search-fu is to be trusted, has never been resolved, or even replied to. Here's hoping for a break from tradition.

First, I want to state clearly, and for the record, that this is not a request for portable Java. I don't need portable Java and I don't care about portable Java.

If I just pull my flash drive out of my computer, is there a way to make Firefox, and basically all of the programs I am using with Portable Apps, automatically close?

On every page I try to log in FFP 3.0.10 gives me the option to remember the entered user name and password. But when I'm logging into Yahoo and Hotmail sites, the above option is not available. Why is it so? I understand why this function is switched off for banks' pages and some financial institutions (like PayPal). But why for My Yahoo, Yahoo Mail or Hotmail and MSN? I had no such problem with GMail site. Could someone explain, please?

How can I use a picture as my homepage in FFP? I have created a small html file which displays my picture as homepage. The problem is that it only works with set path. If my pen drive is allocated different drive letter, FFP can't find the photo (placed with mypage.html file in profile folder). I have already tried several suggestions from other forums but none of them worked. Thanks.

I just recently started to use Firefox Portable and I'm not sure if this is normal behavior or not (or if there is a way to change the behavior). Depending on the computer I am on, different add-ons will show up. For example, the computer I am on now has AVG anti-virus on it, and so I get a lovely new toolbar on my browser. This computer does not have a local copy of Firefox. Is there a way to use only add-ons that are stored on my flash drive?

My FFP updated last week and I have 3.0.10. After that upgrade my cookies keep on getting deleted. I will select remember me when logging into any site. If I close FF and open it back up it does not remember me. It happens with Gmail, Yahoo, and all sites that use cookies. My cookie setting is set to "keep until they expire". This is pissing me off... for all the sites I goto I have too login every time.

I haven't been following automatic updates; I have been coming back to PA, diligently, to get my updates. But, it seems I keep losing my directory:

FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox\chrome\icons\default

Is there any way this directory could not be deleted when updating?

I use portable firefox with my flash disk and I need specific hosts file. I cant change hosts file which is on computers. (some of them are public computers and some of them is restricted)

is that possible something like tahat - to start firefox:
firefox.exe /extdns=c:\myhost.dns

I created a portable firefox with some bookmarks..
but when I installed a new windows all the bookmarks disappeared and I had to setup it again..

is there anyway to create a portable firefox which can save the data, history, bookmarks, etc? I have Portable Google chrome that works perfectly..
